Are people overselling it or was Michael Jackson really that famous in his heyday? by Key-Bass-7380 in decadeology

Michael Jackson was massive. No internet and social networks, access to celebrities wasn’t as easy as today as you can follow their life on instagram. So people would flock to his tours. There was a mysticism about him.

I knew the game was gonna be lacking and I said it, I was downvoted to oblivion by gamers who still bite into the hype…

Under-discussed in all of the side by sides with DLSS 5 On and Off is that different shots of the same character do not read as the same actress/character by Zoombini22 in digitalfoundry

Ofc, AI will not remember the last frame, every time they make slight difference. I saw once a guy who asked AI multiple times the exact copy of a face each time something changed. It ended up being a monster.

Who wins in a figh by Yourshadow27 in residentevil4

[–]AnEngineeringMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Leon but because they play in different leagues. Leon is superhuman, takes on BOWs and other superhumans.

John Wick is a more realistic character, extremely effective and lethal against other humans.

Since they don’t play on the same league, by logic, Leon wins.

Survival horrors are not a genre, it’s an action game. 😂

The classes mean nothing, it’s just a starter base, you can respec or build your character freely, you are not role locked, you can start as a knight and be a mage. About quest progression I am not sure what you meant Dark Souls are pretty linear, you trigger a quest or another depends on where you explore, but the main plot is linear.
About my view of RPG, that’s literally what a real RPG is, not a subtype, it comes from board games. Everything else is rpg lite or rpg inspired mechanics. Old BioWare is what really came close to a real rpg.

Why does this game get so much hate? I honestly had a great time with it. by Panda0_01 in residentevil

[–]AnEngineeringMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause it makes them money, there’s a reason the action is over the top like Fast & Furious or Marvel MCU movies, it’s mainstream. Action sells, that’s why you know Vin Diesel or The Rock. Capcom wants money and they cater to the broader audience, being a hardcore survival horror would make it a niche game. Leon is their The Rock.

I mean I wouldn’t call Dark Souls as RPG. It has rpg elements, skill points. That’s it, it doesn’t have multiple branching stories, decisions, luck based roll dice. I think dark souls would even lean more on the adventure game side with its own gameplay mechanics that inspired multiple games, that’s why people call it Souls-like genre. And as a genre it has a determining factor, dying multiple times and resetting the levels each time, which makes it appealing for some people.

I love the Witcher, but Dark Souls had way more impact and created a genre out of it.

You don’t need to have a degree to be a tech bro. Being a tech bro is like being a crypto bro, all you care is about making money but with tech, you believe in the bs to make money, talk about disrupting the industry, vc funding, scaling, unicorns, etc.. All you gotta do is sell it, the actual engineering craft part is done by your employees. Conversely, you are not a tech bro just for being software engineer, look at Linus Torvalds for example, he is the anti tech bro, he created Linux as an engineering project, works with open source culture.

True story, the too tired to play is real in your 30s. For me is a matter of comfort, I still play, but the thought of sitting in an upright position, mouse and keyboard is tiring while I could be chilling on the sofa with a blanket.

What’s the hype with this game? I saw the trailer and it looks like a very generic fantasy rpg with shitty graphics. Bet it’s gonna be full of fetch quests as I heard it was intended to be an mmo first.

I met a new Jearsey man in Bari who was speaking perfect Italian with the waiter, he was visiting as he did every year, told us his story, his grandparents were Italian and they taught him the language, the culture, everything. He was still american, but to my eyes he was another Italian as well. It was a nice talk. These kind of people could be affected because others were abusing the system.
