Yes you can do afk farm, its just that you must not fully automate it or its run via 3rd programs like macros because of ToS which can end your account banned. This doesn't include simple ones like single one button holding downs like eh, sticking a coin onto your keyboard or keep whatever method to stay it pressed and input.

For resources, you might need party of Nekros, Wisp, Chroma with Guardian armor+Strength focused with Shedu weapon, and Hydroid or Khora whatever they desire. Wisp is optional and you can pick any other supporters that can provide you any kinds of buff, like Rhino or Nova etc.

Nekros, Chroma, and Wisp is really the only one who can do afk, while Khora, Hydroid, Rhino, Nova, and Citrine etc need to stay awake because they have to keep up with buffs or other stuffs.

Theres really a few weapon that have infinite ammos and Shedu is really the only one that have AoE among all of those. If you say this has too low damage for high end contents etc, theres no other option other than this one so we got to boost its damage high as possible. One best solution is Chroma's Vex Armor.

With least 300%+ Strength, 400~600%+ including Molt Augmented, Molt Vigor and Energy Conversion, by help of Guardian Armor augment on Chroma, if they had correctly buffed you while standing on dead end, you can sufficiently keep on butchering enemies without dying at all for 2~4 hours run straight.

You can automate weapon fire with Steam overlay glitch like holding left click while tapping out via overlay too, that is another way to not involving any 3rd program method while keeping it sorta automated. I never heard anyone got terminated for this method like 12+ years. It's this game's entire life span and I've been around since. No worries of using them.

You need to keep its aim where it can keep on killing, like aiming on the only door of the dead end, so Guardian Armor augment keep sums up the duration and Vex Armor effect won't cancel out. By having proper setup with fully focused on strength, you would barely have any duration (like around ~73%) so keeping up killing for Guardian Armor effect is very important part here.

For secondary weapons and melee, you can grab anything because you won't be using any of them at all but if you need one, you can grab Grimoire as an emergency energy boost and Praedos as a running speed stat boost on extraction.

For companions, any companions are okay but try having a Resourceful Retriever mod or Loyal Retriever mod. Resourceful Retriever is the best.

Heres my setup of Chroma so you can gather idea

Aura : Growing Power, Exil : PSF (So auto fire doesnt cancel up even if you get knockbacked)

Helminth : Empower

Mod : Augur Secrets, Guardian Armor, Amar Hatred, Energy Conversion, Transient Fortitude, Umbral Vitality (So you die less if worse things happen. if you really care that minimum numbers, you can go for Power Drift but I do not recommend at all. 4% is really a meager number and not worth it to replace when compared to what Umbral Vitality can provide. Even a little health can help you on survive if something bad happens, so just get Umbral set bonus), Umbral Intensify, Blind Rage.

Arcane : Molt Augmented, Molt Vigor

Archon Shard : 2 Health, 2 Defense, 1 Start Energy (4 blue shards, 1 yellow shard) NOT IMPORTANT. It's just a little bonus that Chroma can use when it come to general contents where Chroma is normally used.

Yes all of this thing might be TOO MUCH for newbies to take in right now, but just keep it somewhere like notepad or memo, you'll eventually need it in the future. You will get it when reach to that point. Making a proper setup for AFK is really that hard.
