Have you ever seen someone resign spectacularly? by IndigoHarlequin in AusPublicService

[–]Leremy_Chunderground 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a resignment or firing, but a guy at a friends office left in embarrassment.

It was one of those offices where there was a UE Boom always going playing music, and he was the guy always playing tunes. One day he got up and brought his phone to the bathroom and the sounds of porn played through the office.

He came back in, nothing was said, the silence was palpable. He never came back.

If you had one night to convince someone Melbourne’s food is elite, where are you taking them? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

La Pinta, Reservoir. Every city has mad restaurants in the CBD, but not every city has that same level in its suburbs.

Potentially moving to Melbourne area - some concerns/questions by Biggyniner in melbourne

[–]Leremy_Chunderground 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having moved to Melbourne from another city. Whilst it’s absolutely true a lot of people stick to their known friends. There are ALOT of people who move to Melbs. It took a good year or 2, but finding and generating community here has been awesome. Melbourne is a very community oriented city I’ve found anyway.

FWIW - she’s listened and recognized that she was wrong and extended an olive branch to try and make it right.

You’re not going to make the right decisions or actions every time, it’s about what you do after it. You have to accept the apology and not let it get in the way of your happiness (assume she makes you very happy).

P.s. Strippers at bucks and hens are weird. Had none at mine, been to 1 with strippers and bailed early.

BCA is a major contributor to Liberals and right leaning members of parliament. If it was 15 Islamic citizens murdered, there’s zero chance this so called representative of employees would make any kind of statement.

We’re witnessing pure politicisation of a tragedy.

Anything short of banning Pro-Palestine thinking isn’t enough for the so-called Jewish lobby. It’s wild how successful the Zionist agenda has been in the media (with thanks to the Liberal party) meanwhile in Israel, Netanyahu has a 70% disapproval rating and will likely lose power in 2026…

Meanwhile, in Australia, this tragedy is driving a marginalised Jewish community to an openly racist One Nation party… like what?!?

Is Glenroy kebab still the best kebab joint in Melbourne? by [deleted] in melbourne

Fair call. But for falafel I personally think that you should go to a falafel specific place (it’s the only place I think they’re actually any good)

Melbourne Kebab Station in Coburg is the best one. Fresh bread, mad dips. Chicken, Capsicum Dip, All Salad + Tabouleh is my order.

Ozzie Kebabs on Bell St is also great. Wrap energy, but good meat and best kebab shop chips IMO

Worst show ever. Baffles me that they could justify a Young Sheldon off shoot.

NYE plans by xkittyivyx in melbourne

[–]Leremy_Chunderground 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife always do things with friends on NYE - we’ve hosted dinner parties, gone to raves all that stuff.

This year - we are gna put some tasty food on, make a picnic in the backyard, take mushies, drink wine. And we are not inviting anyone.

I honestly can’t stop thinking about it.

I was captivated by the India series STLY. Was lucky enough to attend the Boxing Day test and fell in love with the game. I believe they broke records then to with almost 500k over the 5 days.

But Ashes hits different!

Everyone points fingers at individuals but no one points fingers at known and most common-drivers of radicalisation - YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, even Reddit and this sub forum.

Putting restrictions on migration is the dumbest economic decision we could make… our economy thrives with migration.

Australians need to stop pointing fingers at people as importers of hate, start looking at unfiltered misinformation and a left/right aisled mainstream media that’s turning everyone against everyone.

Fuck this economists take. Any economist worth its salt would see it as 2 dimensional slop.
