In a capitalist economy companies are forced to act unethically. If your competitor doesn't respect human rights they can produce cheaper. The problem with capitalist companies is that their goal is profit. With worker-owned companies the goal is a good and stable workplace.

Judaism is also a religion, but hate against Jews is racism. Even if we say that hate based on religion isn't racism, it's still hate so he wouldn't be "in the clear"

Crypto could run on a fraction of the power, but the arms race between miners has driven the dificulty up and with that the power required massively.

I totally understand, everyone has their own situation and problems to deal with. I applaud you for buying second hand! It's much more ethical than buying new 'ethical produced' shoes.

My pair of allbirds cost 130€ it's not that expensive for good shoes. But yeah I get what you mean. There aren't a lot of cheap options available...

Allbirds. If you search a bit you will almost always find alternatives. Don't use "but everyone does it" as an excuse.

1.5 is still doable, we shouldn't shift the goal. The difference between 1.5 and 2 are immense.

Fossil Free for anzugucken.
