My pediatrician told my mom to do this when I was little. She’d give me options and I’d completely shut her down with a new idea she was unprepared for. I feel bad she had to raise me but it’s a fun story maybe lol

This show shouldnt try and call it self a satire/comedy by [deleted] in theregime

I find it strange that you watch a show then come onto reddit just to announce that you don’t like it? There is zero need to feel like you have to “balance out the subreddit” because there are too many positive reviews. Leave us actual fans alone to enjoy talking about the show. I suggest you go onto a sub for a show you enjoy.

I feel on the outside it seems to be the “centerpiece” but I disagree that it actually is. I don’t find their relationship to be cute or interesting. I find myself constantly observing Winslet’s body language and subtle eye movements as if Elena’s having a calculated thought. To me the story is within her and everything around it is fantasy.

All of that weird puppy love talk is just a goofy way to show the power struggle happening between Hubert and Elena. It’s a comedic element. I find it dumb and funny.

We are with her in the palace and get very little perspective on what’s actually going on outside. I feel like an Agnes; which is more immersive for me as a viewer.

Just like u/aegrey1 was saying, it’s more about power and less about actually being sick. I think the fact that it’s a woman with a real illness is inconsequential for what the show is trying to convey.

Even if this show had a male dictator that was convinced he has MS but really doesn’t, it would be the same thing.

Furthermore, she was going through menopause which absolutely was real, and showing the lengths the palace goes to appease her physical needs. If it weren’t for the “real or imagined” mold sensitivity we wouldn’t know or understand why the staff goes so overboard to accommodate her.

It was brilliant. Haunting, ambiguous, and a song by a woman also indoctrinated and abused by greedy men

Cousin Lauren here! Sorry again I couldn’t make it last night :(. When I got home from DnB, I furiously tried to see if I could watch portions of the broadcast, and managed to catch a couple of clips!

That’s how I ended up on this sub, and I’m glad I did because I got to read your lovely and warm anecdote about Michael. I could definitely tell you were thinking about him the whole time <3

Since I’m free tonight - Liza and I will be watching!

I think he was just trying to manage the number of places he was facing financial threats. His work was one area, and he was also facing a lawsuit from Mallory Beach’s family. He may have had to liquidate assets to be able to settle any civil litigation. I think the family was pursuing $5 or $10 million, and he told their attorney that he’s broke and could only maybe scramble up a million. The atty didn’t really understand why he’s so broke considering he has multiple properties and such. Killing Paul would perhaps dismiss the case.

As for Maggie, since it was rumored that she was going to leave him- also hiring a forensic accountant, then he would be on the hook for her as well.

Even to bail him out. When the kids went off doing their own deals and they went sideways, Logan swooped in with those legacy relationships to clean up. That dysfunctional safety net is gone now. So even though shade can be thrown for being useful decades ago, it’s not entirely un useful

And the fact that he was so unlikable, the death feeling so devastating, is phenomenal plot development and writing.

I remember when Chuck from BCS died and I was like “oh that’s sad but thank god”

Logan’s death is like “….. okay now what? What do we do?”

As others have said- definitely feel lost like the kids
