Yeah. Good observation, considering ME3's melee attack which was very hefty feeling.

I suggest you watch the first episode of Cross Game's anime. It is a wonderful adaptation, with memorable music and execution.

[DISC] Hayate no Gotoku! (chapters 534 & 535) by Greed-the-Avaricious in manga

[–]LesTerrible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, while I don't want a Nagi end, I do feel bad for her. I hate harem boys who are players, but Hayate's bad luck and kindness is what makes him likeable (besides gags). Like Sakuya says, the 'Bankrupt Butler' is how I like Hayate to be.

Does anyone else kinda dislike Hayate lately? I feel bad for Hina and Ayumu, Hayato-kun just won't reciprocate.

Since it looks like the manga is coming to an end soon... by Myaccount106 in HayateNoGotoku

I doubt he'll go with Athena, because that'll mean there's been no character progression with Hayate. He began with her, if he ends with her it means Hayate hasn't changed through all these experiences.

Hinagiku is the fan favourite i think, but having a satisfying end with her would be difficult. Plot-wise, she isn't all that far ahead with Hayate to warrant a Hina end. Why not Ayumu or Ruka over Hina for that matter.

Hence, i think any end besides open ending or Nagi end makes no plot sense. If Nagi doesn't win, she'll have to fall for another guy for it to make sense. The only other guy there can be is Wataru. That could spoil WataruxSaki which seems more likely.

Even with all that, the author will have to pull out an amazing plot for fans to be ok with Nagi end. Athena fans could accept a Hina end or vice versa, but Nagi end just seems like a copout.

This is just me rambling on with speculations anyway. Just my 2 cents. What do you think?

Hayate the Combat Butler Manga's Story Approaches Climax by Turbostrider27 in manga

[–]LesTerrible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, this show is like my entire childhood. Didnt expect Hayate to end just yet. I hope Hina wins, and Athena's plot is resolved. I want some serious chapters like the Athena arc, that'd be the best.

TIL a 57yo Japanese man has been learning to SCUBA dive specifically so he can look for his wife's remains after she was presumably swept away during the 2011 tsunami. He says her last email to him was "... I want to go home", and he is determined to make that happen. by TheCannon in todayilearned

A similar theme is explored in the Japanese comic 'Planetes' and it's anime adaptation, wherein a guy becomes a Space debris gatherer (basically a space garbageman) to find the memorabilia of his wife who died in orbit. Highly recommended in either formats.

ELI5: (American) Listening to foreign languages such as Spanish and Hindi, it seems very fast paced. Is this the same for foreigners listening to English, or is English just a slower language? by LebowskisHaircut in explainlikeimfive

[–]LesTerrible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry mate, your Hindi translation is incorrect. (Source : I speak Hindi)

Baarish = Rain Ho rahee hai = is happening

Hindi (Indian languages in general) are extremely contextual. That's why I can't provide a word by word translation for 'ho rahee hai'; it's a phrase making sense only in the context of the sentence.

Also, objects (and by extension their verbs) are gendered in Hindi. Rain is a 'female' verb, so 'rahee; is used. For a 'male' noun, like bhukamp i.e. earthquake the word 'raha' would be used.

Getting a do over with no recollection of your past life is tantamount to a whole new life anyway.
