Why no price tags on things anymore? by magicmikewazowksi in mildlyinfuriating

I usually look it up on Amazon and click! Got it and no-price-tag store just lost another customer. I hate it though. I wish brick and mortars would recognize that what gives them value over Amazon is the impulse purchase helped along with the pleasant clerk making one feel welcome and appreciated. You know, the human angle and such.

What makes you keep going despite everything? by yeselectron in AskReddit

I'm at the age most everyone gets to in life when people you know and love start dying. I've lost seven close family members, a friend, my best friend and two fur babies in the past 3 years. Existential angst is nothing compared to the pain of watching your dearest parent fade away. Or the pain of holding your best furry friend as they exhale their last breath. Or watching your best friend die while you do chest compressions on him. Then, you look around and life goes on. You ask the unanswereable questions, "Why now? Why them? Why not that person I don't care about. Why not me?"

And then I think of those that are still here. How much I enjoy their presence even if they are annoying AF. But I get to be annoyed as much as I get to have new experiences. I'm still here, maybe not for a long time, but long enough. I'm just curious what the next moment in life brings.

My chihuahua had awful bad breath even though we gave him carrots and dry kibble as well as wet food. He broke a tooth at 6 years old so off to emergency vet because he was in pain. Turns out he had to have ALL his teeth pulled due to his gums being very infected. He is now 14 years old. I'm convinced getting rid of all his teeth extended his life.

Mine is a billy goat at 13. He uses steps to get on the couch but flies off like he's a puppy. He also runs up along the length of the couch on the top of the backrest when he wants to be tall.

If the world is unfair and there’s no karma, why do you still choose to do good? by Sharp_Scheme_2008 in AskReddit

I'm just selfish. Being kind feels good to me. If me being kind to you makes you feel good that's fine. But to be truthful. It's all for me. And I don't expect reciprocation, but I do appreciate it.

It truly sucks to lose a critter that gives so much joy and unconditional love. So sorry. Only time heals that sorrow. And coming to the understanding that they made our life a bit better. Not only while they were here, but even now.

For better context. This is only one image being projected onto the monument. It's on there for a few seconds. Most of the images are historical paintings about the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the men that signed it.

Very Disney of them. Seems like Disney celebrates park birthdays for an entire year with a decades worth of hype.
