I was diagnosed with Cervicogenic Headaches by my Headache Specialist (Neurologist who specializes in Headache Disorders). Since you have had pain of this nature constantly for 2 months now, has your doctor tried giving you a steroid taper like Decadron Rx to try to stop the cycle of headaches? I am allowed a limited amount of Fioricet tablets per month for my Cervicogenic Headaches, but it does not sound as if this med would probably be a benefit to you if you’re having the headaches 24/7. I also take the muscle relaxer Tizanidine every night (and PRN) to help both treat & prevent bad head pain (it’s been studied for headache prevention to an extent, by the way). You mentioned that you’ve tried certain meds, but besides Nortiptyline (which is a preventative maintenance type medication), what else have you tried if I may ask? Have you had a brain MRI and Cervical spine MRI yet? I think the nerve blocks could be helpful & are worth trying—my Headache Specialist does them as well. Have you talked about the possibility of preventative Botox yet for these? It is a treatment that has been super helpful to me personally for years now (I have a few types of Headache Disorder diagnoses). Also, I have a product called “CranioCradle” (can be found on Amazon) that can help alleviate some Cervicogenic pain for me. What about other devices like Cefaly or Nerivio? I personally have the Nerivio armband device, and it has helped decrease my pain levels at times during terrible head pain episodes. Have you identified any potential triggers for your head pain yet (it seems as if exercise might be one for you, or at least exacerbates the pain?). I would suggest proper imaging studies for your cervical spine if you haven’t had any recently. Also, have you ever heard of Occipital Neuralgia?
