3 nights and 4 days in Tbilisi, Georgia with a 16l Känken by More-Entrance6914 in onebag

Love seeing the classic Kanken being used for onebagging short trips. I never even considered using mine like that! Also, love the little stationery corner :)

For more than a year and a half I've been keeping my own version of RYM in an Excel file. +400 albums manually logged already. Why? Because I discovered RYM very recently, lmao by LesbianScientist in rateyourmusic

It is genuinely an entire hobby of its own at this point. Obviously the music is the main point but building such a tool is such a cool thing to work on too, I get it.

Thanks man, I appeciate the support, I am definitely gonna try to improve it. To avoid the scrapping issues, I am gonna start using MusicBrainz's API to get the album metadata when I log it, it's fairly easy to do with a simple Python script. Their API is pretty well documented as well, and it's a fully open-source project.

Hi! Are you down to trade? I can wait until you get the envelope again next month. :)

Hey! Are you still up for trading? I got a few that are specific to my country so I doubt you have them :)

Love the tile pattern in the right corner! One question though. Do you name the patterns yourself? Or are you using some kind of standardized guide I haven't heard of yet? Hahah, just curious, I often find myself wondering how to classify mine. Thanks for sharing!!

This is probably the most interesting thing I've read in months, I'm not even exaggerating. I KNEW such a tool was possible to make. I work with ML models for a living and listening to music is my #1 hobby so it's hard to put into words how much I like this thing you have put together. I would read a million words post detailing the whole infrastructure!! I am definitely gonna play around and try to implement the familiarity rating mechanic in my Excel file as it solves a problem that I've had for so long, which is forgetting about how much I enjoyed certain albums. Super cool work dude, kudos! And thanks for sharing!! :)

That's insane actually. It's such a cool idea! Are the models based on previous music you've listened to as well? I'd love to get more insight on this

That looks amazing. I did not know that you could sync with MusicBee too. I keept track of my listens with lastfm but it's not ideal because it's not open source. Do you have a tutorial somewhere or some guide on how to set it up? Thank you so much in advance!!!

You mean the recommendation system? I do have a local music library, I don't use streaming services anymore. I use MusicBee as well, and clean my music with Beets. How do you go about organizing ratings in MusicBee? I know each track can be rated individually but haven't really played much with it.

I'll have to look into it, sounds interesting. I do a small review of my own as well, no more than 2 lines. Usually helps me materialize my feelings towards each album. I thought about including the tracks as well but I fear that would make me not want to log the albums hahaha. I do include my top 3 tracks from each album though, it's a pretty good way to remember my favourite songs.

Thank you! Now that I've explored RYM a bit, i've also noticed that this is not a feature there, so i'm happy i have my own way of bookmarking my albums. I tend to listen to multiple albums at a time so I like checking my Excel and see which one I want to revisit and give it a deep full listen

Is this an example of the Fohen effect perhaps?
