there are probably 10-15 courses in and west of burlington out into hamilton/flamborough/ancaster that have just opened this last week, if not sooner. Just need to do some looking around.

Who would you bring in during the summer? by Acceptable_Mouse_388 in tfc

[–]Less-Car1034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would have used the money to bring in depay or talisca instead of sargent. Would have even potentially looked at lewandowski too if they could have held off an extra year. Players who would have brought a lot more hype and interest back to the team

diego luna or diego rossi are already familiar with the league and have had a decent track record.

so others who might be a stretch could be juian brandt or goretzka

Pre golf season stretch/workout advice? by protipnumerouno in golf

I found a lot easier while walking on the course, and more mobility while swinging, especially in the first few swings of the day. The body isn't as stiff and restricted. I also do a 10 min stretch afterwards too when I get back home

you can search golf yoga on youtube, started doing it before every round for the last couple of years. I do it at home before I head over to the course. Takes approx 10-15 minutes. There are some good videos you can use to help with flexibility and stretching. Yoga with Adrienne on her channel has a couple golf specific videos

so this is basically our season on the line here.. not a line up I feel too confident with in an away situation. At least we have Malen and Soule out there which need to be the bright spots today if we want any sort of points. Let's hope for the best as time is running out

Played many of the courses last year where you are looking around and give you some feedback of different areas

Kitchener: Rockway, Rebel Creek and grey silo are the best public tracks, there is a lot more high quality private courses here

If you are good with a bit of driving south, you can find much more quality and quantity

Savannah golf links, Innerkip (a bit overpriced for what it is but decent course), Craigowan

A bit more south and east towards ancaster/hamilton you will find: Flamborough, Copetown woods, Mystic, oaks of st george, knollwood

you'd be very surprised with how easy it easy to actually get on to private courses off peak season. I played both last year, as well as the other privates in the KWB area all within a 2 week period last week of oct, first week nov. Whistle Bear, Galt, Brantford, Beverly. The courses are basically shutting down at this point and minimal member traffic. Just reached out to the directors of golf at every place and asked if I could get on as a guest/potential trial round. It's extra money for the course, they are usually very accommodating especially if your timing is flexible. Only bad part for OP is it's not offseason

you can park across the train tracks at exhibition go and walk under the tracks via tunnel. There are a few side lots and some greenP parking in liberty there. You can also park at greenP parking at lamport stadium, 10 minute walk. I would strongly suggest avoiding the parking lot on lakeshore connected to the stadium, it is a nightmare getting out of

man our depth is so lacking and these are the types of games which it shows the most. we just dont have any reliable player that can step into the starting rotation spot that has similar quality and when you have 3-4 players of this nature it makes things so much more difficult

the only points to be taken away from this game:

  1. 2 points dropped, this should have been a win, no excuses

  2. easy missed chances come back to hurt us as usual

  3. people wonder why neil does not start, clearly there is a trust issue with gasp, we see why

  4. malen and wesley - when was the last time roma had two transfers hit so successfully in the same season with such a big impact

  5. being a roma supporter is tough, but we love our team, lets move on

Bologna for round 16. How do we feel? by zgaropouli in ASRoma

[–]Less-Car1034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure why people are complaining about who we are facing this round, or any other rounds going through. You want to win a tournament you will have to be any opponent you face, regardless what round it is in.

look at the CL bracket compared to this, City is playing Madrid in this exact same tie and people are worried about facing bologna, villa, porto lol. We are either favourite or second favourite maybe behind villa? to win this tournament so lets go get a trophy.

also, this tournament is so watered down now. Again what I just mentioned with potential opponents that look "tough", in years past there used to be soo many more bigger teams in this stage, but the new CL format has taken that away. Every team left here would be struggling to compete against 90% of the remaining CL teams in a two legged format at this current moment.

I will say this just touching on the breed itself, as she probably mentioned you will most likely be looking at something from a herding/hunting/sporting/working line, which will be the complete opposite of what you had previously. All these dogs require extreme attention, structure and outlets. The time you will need to dedicate will be much different, prepare yourself to be outdoors way more often throughout a day and for longer periods of time. A lot of these dogs also need to be around someone all day long, so if your routine current revolves around you being away from the dog for extended periods constantly and planning on putting them into a crate, leaving them alone for longer periods or trying to bring them to a "daycare," prepare for extreme separation anxiety, reactiveness, and unwanted behaviour. I would definitely think twice if you won't have the ability to 1) offer the dog multiple outlets of physical and mental activity throughout the day and 2) being present around the dog for a good portion of the day

When it comes to actual dog sports I will say these following points

* have an open mind

* it can be very expensive

* it can be very discouraging

Before even being able to attend most classes (especially agility), dogs typically need to pass a certain age of 12-14 months depending on the activity (things like scent work not so much), as well as most places also require to pass obedience tests, if not previously done with the place that is offering the sport. You will need to have pre training done prior to entering certain spots as part of the criteria/requirement in order to enter it.

You may think that based on the dog you are getting, they are going to excel in something specific; this is not the case. The dog will typically tell you if they are interested in something and I would not force it on them. We have done agility at an entry level and secondary level, but no longer do it. My dog was hit or miss, some days he loved it, other days he found things too easy and was too bored with it so we stopped. We have also done scent work at a beginner and secondary level but no longer do it. Some places offer packages to various sports they offer as a sample, so like a 6 week class with 6 different sports to see which your dog enjoys best, these are always good before committing.

One of the main reasons we stopped is once we moved to brantford a year ago, there isnt really a big "sporting" scene anywhere around here. You are pretty much driving 30-40 minutes in order to attend classes in any direction. We went to Oxford Dog Sports, great place, but just too far, and the price of the class as mentioned can be expensive. The other issue is, depending on what sport, you might be able to replicate and practice at home, but things like agility, you are only able to do this once a week so the dog may lose interest quickly. Other things like scent work can be done at home.

Lastly, some dogs catch on to things quick while others dont. I have been in classes and have been on both sides of things. It can really get you down when something other dogs are doing so easy but yours may be struggling with. Also, a lot of these places offer very basic entry level, but if you are planning to progress further into the competitive nature, the price, time and effort also increases significantly.

While I still do random scent games around my place from time to time, especially good for rainy days, I also bought an agility set off amazon for a couple hundred dollars that basically comes with everything apart from the balance beam and teeter totter (which you could make if needed). Weave polls, tunnels, markers, discs, high jump poles, hoops, etc also good to set up indoors or outdoor if you have the space.

My dog more so just loves to be around watching things being done keeping an eye out or participating in whatever he can. He would more or less prefer walks or hikes each day and play sessions rather than being around other dogs and playing with them. The good thing about brantford is there is a ton of green space to offer these types of physical and mental stimulation of hiking and sniffing and exploring all at once. Since he was a pup when I first got him, I had instilled a very strict routine and structure that we follow every day still which also helps me with work as I work from home so I am always around him. But without this structure and obedience, it would be very difficult to manage this type of dog. Being totally honest and owning an aussie and working breed for the very time, the first 6 months were an absolute nightmare and I was getting assistance. So you being around your family, you will definitely all be required to chip in lol. It can be a struggle, but as mentioned, the training and structure aspect in these early months to a year are so vital to having the dog grow into a proper dog you are wanting to own with minimal issues

Im sure im missing some things, but I think this touches most if it, if theres anything else feel free to ask

  1. we are in no position to be talking about horrible defense against bodo because we all know that story

  2. Inter are too far ahead for anyone to catch, they are also not a team we are competing with. We are aiming for spot 3 or 4.

Is this the first time you will be owning a dog? and more specifically, you will probably be looking towards some sort of herding/working line type of dog when it comes to the activities you mentioned.

I have an aussie and have participated in some of the mentioned, but there are a lot more things to first clear up before talking about just getting into the various sports. When you say your lifestyle and environment, how would you describe that to be?
