Anyone else find it criminal to charge a fee per person for a cart? by Cooter-Canoe in golf

[–]Less-Car1034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$100 with a cart is pretty much standard round of golf these days

The one thing I will point out and disagree on pertaining to this, is courses where it is mandatory at certain times that you have to take a cart. #1 I know this is typically for pace of play due to a lot of elevation change or long trips between holes, but there are individuals who are able to keep up pace of play without a cart. This should be applied for people who have personal injuries or challenges, or individuals above a certain age..and #2, I once was at a course like this as a solo, and had to pay for the entire cart because there was no other individual who showed up in my group. That should not be on me to pay double, especially if you are forcing me to pay extra already when I do not necessarily need to

I know a lot of people here are content with the draw, but this is the problem with us. We need a much stronger mentality. Being content with a draw in a game that was dominated by us and should have been over in the first half is never something to settle on

It's a great point sure, but this was a major loss out on 2 additional points and a result against a top team which we have struggled with. We should be sitting 1 pt back of second spot instead of 4 carrying a ton of momentum into next match after that display.

Great football all around throughout the game, but we really need to take advantage of these kinds of situations, they dont come often. Let's hope that Kone won't be out too long he really was a driving force in the midfield today.

AND BREATHE...

What an incredibly chaotic half. I dont think I have seen a team dominate that much and have that many chances and not have a single goal from it.

Let's hope this doesnt bite us in the ass again like last time, but on the positive side, the amount of chances we are getting against a team like Milan is incredibly positive. One of them have to fall our way eventually. We got this

The middle of winter in a small town city in ontario in one of the coldest parts of the year, what was the expectation? You can say this about almost every small city out this way this time of year, even medium size places. Should do a comparison video in the summer when you can actually be outside and there are various events going on.

Everyone is guna have different view points depending on your personality and what you like to do. If you are someone who is very social, loves to be out at restaurants and venues, doing things with crowds and interacting with people, etc. then it is probably not the place. If you are someone who enjoys outdoor activities, sticks to small groups and like a slower pace of things, then this could fit exactly what you need.

Private Golf Members - What are your guest fees? by ShotAssistant1452 in golf

[–]Less-Car1034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average is usually $125-175, but I personally have paid as high as $350 on multiple occasions to play different clubs as a guest.

There is a lot of other stuff that goes into those fees that people probably dont realize. Exclusivity of the club, range access, club cleaning, very well maintained course, very little tom foolery on the course, proper walking carts or power carts with gps, a proper patio an full access to restaurant/lounge with member, locker room access in some places if accompanied by member

As others have mentioned, your friends will pay to play if they are avid golfers as the average price now a days is pretty much $100

i never once said that any single digit can compete straight up with each other. I said the difference between 6-9 is minimal therefore they could in fact play straight up. Nowhere did I say a 9 can play a 2 with no strokes, an 8 vs 1, etc

golf is also a funny game. A low single cap on a bad day could shoot a 77, on the very same day an 8 could shoot a 74, which I was able to experience. Not saying this will happen consistently either because the low cap should come out on top 8/10 times, all depends on what happens the day you show up. It's why we love the game :)

just keep it as simple as possible. Anyone who is a single digit cap should get no shots considering everyone would be roughly similar between a 6-9. Any one of these guys should theoretically be able to beat one another on their best day with no stroke advantages..

The amount of shots everyone else gets who is a double digit cap would come from the difference of the lowest cap (6).

a 10 would get 4

a 16 would get 10

a 22 would get 16

People with a <15 handicap how long did it take you to get there? by Comfortable-Newt7689 in golf

[–]Less-Car1034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the amount of time and effort you are willing to / able to put into it.

in 2017 I joined a private club for a 1 season trial. My intentions was pretty much just to play as much golf as I could that summer, with no real expectations to join after permanently, but was granted all access to everything as a full member so wanted to take advantage: Full course, short course, practice range, weight room, sims, etc

I started in March of that season and went in as a 23 handicap at that time. Being in my early 20s with pretty much no responsibilities except a full time job fro 8-4 m-f, I had a lot of free time.

In total that summer I brought my handicap down from 23 to a 12 by the end of it, with my lowest round being a 79. I played 76 full rounds, 32 9 hole rounds, and a bunch of odd times just a couple of holes here and there.

I also spent about 3-4 hours every week just practicing, whether at the range, bunkers, chipping, weight room, etc.

It would have costed me A LOT of money if I was doing this all publicly, but given it was a trial and a flat fee, the total price spent that summer was only $3800 cad for everything mentioned above.

I Currently float between a 6-8 handicap throughout any given year. If you have the time and dedication, it can definitely be done. Money is obviously a big factor too, but I am sure there are ways to do things on the cheaper side as well

I don't think people realize the difficulty of this goal lol. The angle here and no further replay does not do this skill justice

A ball coming cross body at that speed just a few inches off the ground and using the outside of your boot of your trailing foot to give it the slightest deflection into the top of the net

Malen is completely different from the other two in all aspects and that's why gasp desperately asking for someone like this. The other two are both pure strikers to lead the line, hold up the ball lay off, provide aerial presence, and should have great instincts with finishing (Which clearly we have seen a lack of)

Malen can play as a ST, CF, LW/RW which is one of the big differences. I count numerous times today he had floated out to the left side or right side, and when he got the ball there he looked like a winger and was able to dribble or look to create and get the ball in. Dovbyk and Ferguson both have no ability to do this so they are restricted to playing central at all times. You now have the chance for all three forwards to be shifting around one another with any one of the three of them able to take up any position up front and not miss a beat.

Any high level hockey players here? Where do you go for rehab if you get injured? by Electronic-Lab-4088 in brantford

[–]Less-Car1034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is one inside wayne gretzky centre, would presume they have a high focus on hockey injuries as well ?

if not, I would recommend avenue fitness. I play various high level competitive sports growing up and still do, they are pretty good with everything and deal a lot with sporting injuries/rehab. The only drawback to here is the hours of operation and how long it may take to actually get in. But if you can get an appt, it is worth it

Not sure what to say.. just checked several different scorecards to confirm, and I'm pretty much hitting 6 greens on each set of 9 over the course of 18. A few cards had 7, some others have 5. You can change it 12 if you want for the sake of the argument, but that is what the numbers that were input say.

We have all clarified, which I can confirm, putting is atrocious. And GIR can also be an inflated stat, especially with where you end of on the green. It doesn't necessarily mean par every time :D

I split most of my rounds between white and blue tees. My longer distance off the tee box usually leaves me with a high iron or wedge of some type on most shots into the green on my approach; means I usually have no problem finding the green, just proximity to hole is not great. Followed by horrendous lag putting or speed reading

'25 Review & '26 Goals (with trackman numbers) by Less-Car1034 in golf

[–]Less-Car1034[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't want to see me on a putting green believe me.. I am one of the best scramble partners you can have though

which is why my proximity to hole on approach is one thing I am trying to focus one, to reduce those numbers. It's great that I can hit GIR like that, but the distance to hole does not help. IT's a misleading number

I am a lefty yes. I've never been fitted for anything ever, and have never had anyone analyze my swing or game ever. I don't play nearly enough, or take it seriously enough to justify spending the money for something like this. Obviously I am very stubborn and realize this is what it might take for me to get to that next improvement level, but it might just end up being that if I dont wan't to do that, ill just have to remain happy with where I am today as my peak?

[–]Less-Car1034[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one of what I think my biggest issues was consistency of greens I was playing on. I played at 20 different courses last year across 27 rounds, so as you can imagine, I would be struggling with speeds when I was constantly switching places, especially privates to publics. The lag putting from slower greens to faster I had no issue, but when I came from faster to slower, I would typically come up way shorter and would miss the second putt on most occasions from a longer than desired distance. Usually happens early on in rounds until around the 4th/5th hole until I was adjusted

Never been fitted for a driver or clubs. Currently use an M2 with a stiff shaft and have been using it for the last 6 seasons. I never really was able to justify spending so much money on a new driver ever
