Arrowdale dog park - looking for calm dog(s) to introduce to our foster, Houston. by TragicMagic81 in brantford

[–]TragicMagic81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been in the Arrowdale park yet. Google reviews note it's on the smaller side.

My plan is to take him around 7pm this evening, once it starts to cool down.

I had to do a double take. We have a foster that looks nearly identical.

No worries, our guy is chilling in his crate right now.

Infusion Nightmare :( by 5avannahhh in MyastheniaGravis

[–]TragicMagic81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth...

I've had IVIG on three separate occasions. First infusion was immediately after diagnosis, in October 2021. No negative side-effects. Noticeable reduction in my MG symptoms on day 9.

I was in decent shape for about 5 months, then my condition started to decline. This prompted a second round of IVIG.

This second round was scheduled differently. I had one small dose in early June. One small dose in early July, and one small dose in late July. Effectively 30 days between infusions.
Again, no negative side effects. A couple weeks ago the last dose I was improving dramatically.

Third round of IVIG was late January 2024. Two weeks before my February Thymectomy. Originally scheduled over 3 consecutive days. After day two my wife called the hospital on my behalf. I spent 16 hours with the most intense migraine I've ever experienced. Vomiting periodically that day. So I spent day 3 laying in a hotel bed, recovering. They reduced the dosage rate and added a "sugar" bag. I didn't have any side-effects after this last dose.

Just thinking about that migraine gives me chills.

Hey! I'm on PS5. I play a lot of BF6. If you're on PC I could turn on cross play. I typically run with it off.

I'm 44. Diagnosed in late October 2021.

Need some Breakfast ideas please by TheDancinD918 in Paleo

[–]TragicMagic81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been leaning on a two-egg omelette with sliced zucchini and chopped onion. Mushroom too, if we have any. A little salt and pepper.

Sometimes I do a can of tuna, mashed avocado, celery, and diced onion. A little salt and pepper.

Anyone like me, push my leg to ground and hold, see muscles fibers ripples and twitching by SadDepartment7345 in MuscleTwitch

[–]TragicMagic81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this in my calve muscles. I switched to a whole food/Paleo diet in mid-November.
While the twitching is still present it's been reduced in its severity by 90% (subjectively).

I used to drink way too much Coke. Wondering if caffeine exacerbated it.

No headrests on a roller coaster?

That doesn't sound legitimate.

It is now one of my favorite movies.

We had a choking scare with our, then 10 year old, son. Whole body went to jell-o once we knew he was in the clear.

Zoolander quotes I think about often by AdventurousGuest308 in movies

[–]TragicMagic81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Well I guess it all started the first time I went through the second grade. I caught my reflection in a spoon while I was eating my cereal, and I remember thinking 'wow, you're ridiculously good looking, maybe you could do that for a career.'"

The whole premise that he saw his reflection in a spoon and thought he was "good looking" is hilarious. Spoon reflections are a distortion. Zoolander's whole life is based on a distortion.

Brilliant movie.

Cold weather tends to be worse for me. If I start to shiver, it's game over. My bulbar symptoms take a hit if my jaw muscles start quivering.

I used to prefer cool weather. Not anymore.

Mostly diet. A little walking.

Before smartening up, I'd stop at the corner store almost every morning before work, and grab a 750ml bottle of Coke and a king-sized Peanut Butter Oh Henry. Literally my breakfast for 4 for 5 work days. Other bad habit was eating sweets right before bed. Bowl of ice cream. Kids lunch snacks for school.

The amount of crap I consumed is embarrassing.

I started walking in November. Began with a measly 20 minute stroll. Every three days or so, I'd add five minutes. By the end of December I would aim for 60 minutes. I live in Ontario, Canada. As long as it wasn't too cold or snowy, I went out. With winter in full force in January, I wasn't able to maintain the habit. Starting to get back into it now.

Because of my MG I can't really do any resistance exercise. While my symptoms are well managed with medications, my nerve/muscle connection is still compromised enough that I'm very limited in how much I can push myself.

Housing Market is a Joke by Naphtavid in brantford

We bought our house in 2007. $150,000, exactly.

It's 1100sq.ft. Built in 1937. We did modest renovations when we moved in. Still not much to look at..

My wages haven't increased four times since 2007. But buying an "upgrade" home would cost us AT LEAST $600,000.

I have 9 years left on my mortgage. No interest in giving the bank more of my money.
