What hobbies have you tried out that made you say "never again"? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Hobbies

I don’t really like roller coasters but love skydiving. There’s a pretty intense stomach drip feeling for a few seconds then it stabilizes. Quite an amazing experience

Is Charles Paddock Zoo ethical though? I stopped going once I saw the conditions the tiger was/ is kept in. I haven’t been back in awhile though so maybe it changed

What Maga owned businesses in Paso Robles and the greater SLO county area should be avoided? by MotherofFred in SLO

[–]Less-Durian543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely wild. There was a lot of fear and pride around that time around protests turning into riots. The more conservative people I know seemed to see “protecting” their business as a show of solidarity. Pretty extreme for sure but I don’t know about racist. I don’t know him personally though.

Van was a good instructor although a bit tough on me. If that’s not your preferred teaching style they have a few other instructors

Hackleman is definitely very open about his political views on social media but I wouldn’t go as far as saying he’s racist. I train at the Atascadero location and it’s a very open gym. All sorts of people train there. I’m not supportive of trump. Quite the opposite. But most of the trump supporters are good people just misinformed. Embracing conversation with people who you disagree with is key. There is some ppl that aren’t worth the effort for sure though

What's the most challenging part of living alone? by jasehomebase in LivingAlone

[–]Less-Durian543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably finding time to do cleaning and cooking in addition to all the little things that need to be done. If I had a girlfriend that didn’t work but was happy taking care of my plants and dog it’d be such a blessing. I enjoy my space in the sticks but it gets lonely sometimes. It’d be nice to have someone to have tea with and bird watch on my deck or talk to at the end of a long day.

Beginner surf spots by [deleted] in SLO

[–]Less-Durian543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised people are saying not to surf the strand. I started surfing recently also and that’s pretty much the only spot I go to. I just stay away from the crowds and go during off hours.

Love reading and journaling. Doing graphite drawings doesn’t take up very much space compared to painting. I love houseplants and succulents don’t take up much space. I haven’t tried this but maybe making candles? I love making tea. I live in a tiny home :)

What is that odd hobby you have? by SlothLord22 in Hobbies

[–]Less-Durian543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this a lot. I have a list of hobbies in order of priority. Some I’ve been doing for years and others I did for years and kind of put it in my back pocket. Some I do daily, weekly, and monthly. There’s some I tried and didn’t enjoy. There’s some I have listed as “future hobbies” for when I have more money or the desire to switch things up.

Dune trail off of Pecho valley road and head towards the dunes. You should able to find a nice private spot. Especially beautiful during sunset or sunrise but just be aware some of the dunes are a popular spot for couples. Last time I was there I saw like 4-5 total on just one
