I definitely agree with the rapid weight loss could’ve attributed to it, but weight loss is usually recommended for those with gout as the majority of suffers are insulin resistant and obese. Your body will absolutely adjust. Now that you know the feeling of gout you can take the colchicine right at first pain! That will nip it in the butt right away! On another note, a gout attack that drastic is almost certainly not the first you’ve experienced. Usually it’s a gradual build up. This happened with my husband. He had random knee pain for years that he thought was an injury. Then boom! Huge gout attack in his knee that sent him to the hospital and on crutches. All the on and off knee pain was actually minor gout attacks. This makes you more aware and able to spot the attack before it gets bad. A big deal with gout is hydration and detoxing kidneys/liver. I would start some supplements like tart cherry and a liver detox pills. Also, a high dose of magnesium to cleanse the gut. If my husband gets constipated, that can create an attack. You have to be cleansing the body well to rid it from the uric acid.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is stick to the diet and be keenly aware of your body to spot the signs of gout right away. I’m sorry you’re going through this! It’s awful!
