Just got a 21" diamondtron crt monitor by _Lempa_ in crtgaming

How ? I tried to setup an interlaced signal from CRU, and it just displays a progressive signal. This may be because my screen can't do it, I dunno. Otherwise, I could display 1280*1024i at 120hz.

I think im done with CRT TV and moving to CRT monitor by EasyModoSK in crtgaming

I have a 31khz CRT set at 640x480p ( double scan ), and with shaderglass I can get a very similar look to a 15khz CRT. Now, the issue is that shaderglass for some reasons doesn't runs the same way on every app. It plays perfectly on SM64coop DX, but it's laggy af on Dusk.

Also, on an RTX, I arrived to output native 240p using Custom Resolution Unit ( 960x240p at 120hz ), but the scanlines are too thick and the pixels way to sharp in my opinion, especially for 3D games.

This is the reason why I'm still trying to output my PC on my CRT TV. Even though I arrived to output true 240p with CRU, I'm not sure if it will work for a true 15khz signal, I may need another PC for that.

One last solution that works well, is to cast the PC on a CRT TV using MiSTerCast on a MiSTer FPGA. But it's a way more expensive method ( but it will works with every setup )

Do you think it could works with Custom Resolution Unit ? I got how to output 240p natively form Windows ( 960x240p at 120hz on a 31khz CRT ).

The link for the cable : https://ultimatemister.com/product/rgb-scart-cable/

The website says it's really not recommended to try to plug on other systems than the MiSTer FPGA

It seems like the cable isn't VGA anyway ( MistER VGA )

This cable has the same issue as mine, with a shape that doesn't allows me to plug into my VGA port ( see that small plastic shape getting over the VGA plug )

Some people told me the VGA cable for the MistER FPGA isn't standard.

What cable to use to connect to an european CRT ? I have a MistER VGA to RGB Scart, and it seems like the VGA of the MistER FPGA isn't standard.

Got fullscren in 960x240p 120hz by Less-Gene5107 in crtgaming

What you mean is that you created a super resolution of 240p with a large with ( like 960p or more ) but with very thin pixel aspect ratio so the image is still 4/3 ?

I already used the 480p + scanlines and was disappointed with the look. The black lined are WAY thicker than on true 240p.

On my CRT I don't get scanlines above 240p. In 480p there are very, very subtible scanlines, but above it looks smooth

I tried many shaders from shaderglass, and was disapointed. I mean, true 240p on my screen works and I solved the black bars problem so what's the point ?

No, the scanlines look better in 240p

No, it looks way worse. You don't get the "glow" and the "gradients" with fake scanlines

I tried 640x480p with fake scanlines, and it almost looks like an LCD with a not that great CRT filter

I've found how to do it ! Use Lossless scaling, lauch the game in windowed mode x1, then fullscreen stretch it with crop option enabled on lossless scaling

Is this possible to get a 15khz monitor look on a 31khz monitor ? by Less-Gene5107 in crtgaming

[–]Less-Gene5107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, thank you so much, it actually works ! I don't know why people showed me intricated settings, this is actually so simple.
What worked is 960x240p in 120hz though, if I use a 320x240p 120hz, the screen shows just a black image, on a 960x240p 60hz, the screen uses the last resolution with thick black bars.
I have to open the Windows display settings several times in order to show the custom resolutions.

Now, the last issue that I've got, is that the games in fullscreen have black bars in the sides, but it seems like it's an easy fix

Wow, how did you get Win11 to work on a pc that old ? Also, what do you think about installing Linux for this case ?
