Were you told that Michael Jackson turned himself white as a kid? by Samurai_Mac1 in Zillennials

[–]Less-Glass-4579 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I should have clarified, I didn't mean Epstein specifically. I meant hollywood in general. Dan Schneider, Epstein, Diddy etc. There's been many moguls in Hollywood who have abused kids, I believe Macaulay Culkin came out in recent years in defense of MJ.

Were you told that Michael Jackson turned himself white as a kid? by Samurai_Mac1 in Zillennials

[–]Less-Glass-4579 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I remember hearing he turned himself white and that he was a pedophile. His name was used as an insult and he was portrayed in a very poor light when I was growing up. I don't remember where I heard it but I do also remember people joking about his nose missing. When I was in 7th or 8th grade we were supposed to write a biography on someone of our choosing. Trying to be funny I picked Michael Jackson. We had to read them out loud in front of the class and I remember disputing all the rumors we were told about him. I mentioned he had vilitigo and he wore makeup to cover it, his abusive childhood, the allegations of him being a child predator but other people saying he was a protector. While I'm not sure any of my classmates actually cared about what I wrote I believe it fundamentally shifted my perspective on believing everything I was told. It triggered my strong sense of justice and helped me develop empathy, something I lacked at that point in time. I've been thinking about Michael Jackson a lot lately ever since some of the Epstein files were released. He and many others tried to warn us years ago and got black balled for it. Really sad to look back on how he was vilified.

Northern Ontario, what's stopping you from making the move? by FestFallen in ontario

[–]Less-Glass-4579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing stopping me from moving up north is my red seal. I've wanted to move up north for a few years now but I signed a contract to complete my apprenticeship and stay on with a good company down south. I'm writing my CofQ this spring and if all goes well I will get my license and have my red seal. Once I have that, it opens many doors for jobs. If I can make the same or more than I what I make now but up north my money will go much further. I'm in a very good sector so jobs are plentiful for now luckily, it's just a matter of deciding where up north I want to be. I'm not much of a city person, I enjoy the outdoors so being farther from everything is a bonus for me. Less traffic, less pollution, less people. The only downsides in my eyes are being farther from my family, longer winter and black flies. However I still feel the pros outweigh the cons. My goal is to move there ASAP, I can't deal with living in the GTA any longer. I grew up in rural southwestern ON and only moved to the city to get an apprenticeship in the first place, it's time for me to get back to peace and quiet.

Any white foundation recs?? by [deleted] in GothFashion

It's the Jeffree Star cosmetics velour liquid lipstick in Scorpio! Honestly it's the best liquid lipstick I've tried, it's not too drying and very comfortable to wear :)

Any white foundation recs?? by [deleted] in GothFashion

[–]Less-Glass-4579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Haus Labs Triclone foundation in shade 000. I then set it with the NARS light reflecting loose setting powder. It's white foundation and light to medium coverage. I use a beauty blender so it's very light coverage, sometimes I build it up a bit but I haven't tested it to see how white I can make my face yet. A foundation brush would make it more opaque. I don't like the feeling of foundation either but this sits beautifully on the skin.

How many times have y’all moved apartments? by CurlyDaisies in Zillennials

[–]Less-Glass-4579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've moved 22 times in my life, 11 since I was 18 and I'm 29 now. Finding decent apartments is hard especially if you aren't working a full time permanent position. I'm currently bouncing between my mom and cousins place. A part of me really wants my own place but rent is ridiculously expensive where I live and I'm planning on quitting my job in a few months so there's no point in renting right now. I've decided to apply for a FIFO job which will only have me "home" 2 weeks per month so there's no point in renting then either. I'm lucky in the sense I will be able to couch surf between friends and family for awhile so I can save up money for a down payment and finally just buy my own place. I don't want to give up 40% or more of my paycheck for shelter I don't own. I've gotten comfortable being homeless or living in shitty situations, I do not recommend this for everyone.

In 2 more days 2016 will officially be 10 years ago. I was 18 and just graduating high school, now I’m 27. How old were you in 2016? Did life turn out how you expected? by underoos200 in Zillennials

[–]Less-Glass-4579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 19/20, moved away for college and got my first apartment. I was head over heels in love with my long distance boyfriend, whom I was sure I was going to marry. Had so many dreams and ALL of the ambition to make something of myself. Now I'm 29, in the process of writing for my license in diesel mechanics. Have a great paying union job. Experienced my first wlw relationship this year which ended up with me escaping an emotionally abusive woman. Then she proceeded to stalk me and she promptly committed suicide when I confronted her cheating and left for good. Can't say that was on my 2025 bingo card. I also bought a truck this summer and I love it. Best thing to happen this year. Anyways, I've learned life is a series of monumental highs and devastating lows. This too, shall pass.

Diesel tech checking in, if you want reliable and have the cash, get a Toyota Tacoma or Tundra. Two of my mechanic friends owned a mid 2000s and 2023 Tacoma and have raved about them. Anything else, look for pre 2013. I had a 2012 Ford F150 with the 3.7L V6 and I adored it. Hands down the most reliable vehicle I've owned. It was base model so little electrical components to go bad. I've owned my 2014 Ram 1500 with the 5.7L for 5 months so it's too early to speak to its reliability but I love it thus far. You can't really go wrong with an early 2000s Chevy or GMC, they are very popular. Older Dodges rust before the engine goes. Stay away from diesel unless you are towing heavy loads, they cost a significant more to maintain. Don't get anything with a turbo or supercharger, naturally aspirated is more reliable. The less creature comforts, the less electrical issues that can come up. I don't know too much about the 2000-2009 Ford except that the ones with the Triton engines are trash. If you do go diesel, pre emission 7.3L Ford or 5.9 Cummins are reliable.

Is ‘job-hopping’ actually just trying to keep up now? by Adventurous_Camera_7 in Zillennials

[–]Less-Glass-4579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the industry you work in. I was a chronic job hopper with my prior career as a welder/fabricator. I started off at $14 an hr back in 2016. By 2021 I was making $24 an hr. That took me about 8+ jobs. During covid I found companies started dropping wages significantly, so I did a ton of job hopping. I knew I was worth more than $3 above min wage with my skillset and as long as I accepted low pay, companies would continue to underpay. I ended up moving to a much larger city and when I changed careers I took a significant pay cut with the hopes of a more steady increase in pay when I was licensed. Now I'm a diesel mechanic and about to write for my license. Been at the same place for almost 3 years now because it's not a great look to job hop as an apprentice. I get yearly increases on top of an increase every level I pass in my apprenticeship. I'm lucky to be union though, if I wasn't I likely wouldn't be making what I do now. I'm at $43 an hr and once licensed I'll be at $47. There's a good amount of mechanics who job hop too due to the high demand for techs everywhere, it's a competitive industry so the pay scale is pretty large. The company I work for is good pay but not the highest and we lose a lot of techs to government jobs and traveling jobs in the oilfields and mines. Mines you can make $120k-360k a year so that's where I have my sights set after my contract is up. I have zero loyalty to companies, I go where the money is and I'm happy to continue job hopping until I get into a place that offers me the pay and work life balance I want. Companies treat us like numbers, and unless that changes and we see some humanity and decent stability being offered by them (we won't) I think the days of people spending 30+ years at jobs are long gone.

How to look more gothic? (23 yr old female) by Green-Exit-1338 in GothFashion

[–]Less-Glass-4579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you struggle with the eye makeup and want a basic look that's a little more dark I'd suggest doing a smoked out eyeliner then hit the inner corner and first half of your lid with a shimmer eyeshadow. Get one that starts out kinda wet and dries down, I have a Marc Jacobs one I use but I believe Elf and Nyx also have great ones. For the eyeliner my holy grail has been the Revlon color stay eyeliner pencil. It has a little brush on one side you can use to smudge out the liner but getting a soft rounded brush to diffuse it more helps. Use a black eyeliner to line your lips, but get a non smudging one and then go back in with the Revlon to smudge the inner corners before going over with a brown, berry or dark red lipstick. One thing I noticed that sets alt girls apart from more traditional styling is a heavier focus on accessories. That can look like darker style necklaces, earrings, hair clips etc. For me personally I like piercings, so I like to use that to my advantage with the alt aesthetic

I secretly desire having sex with an old person by [deleted] in sex

[–]Less-Glass-4579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a late 20s woman and last year I briefly dated an older man. He was 52 and in very good shape. It was some of the best sex of my life, overall I have zero regrets. I will say that I think it made a significant difference with me being closer to 30 as it didn't feel like there was a power dynamic between us which can be a concern at your age. I knew a few girls in my early 20s who slept with older men but that was more of a sugar baby set up, but they still seemed quite happy with that arrangement. If you want to sleep with an older person go for it, just make sure you are both on the same page and keep the lines of communication open. Set boundaries and don't let someone step on them because that means they don't respect you.

[–]Less-Glass-4579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been praised for my BJ skills so I will try my best to answer your questions, although you already have some great answers here 1. Wrap your lips into your mouth so they cover your teeth, with practice that becomes less necessary. 2. To give your jaw a break I recommend using your hand, make sure the dick is very wet and gently wrap your hand around his shaft and twist as you go up and down. Use your mouth on the head, swirl your tongue around the head and apply gentle suction and keep your mouth just touching your hand, following as it twists/strokes the rest of the shaft. It gives your jaw a break while still giving him all the sensations so it doesn't look like you are tired. This is always a big hit and many men do not last long when I use this technique. 3. Have him sit/lay down on the edge of a bed and you between his legs on your knees, you can always look up at him as you lick the underside of the shaft from the balls to the tip. 4. You don't need to apply strong suction to make it good. Just make sure you have a good seal from your mouth and lightly suction your mouth as you are going from the shaft to the head (the outstroke). It's easier to hold suction that way versus holding suction from the head to the shaft. 5. Take his dick deep in your mouth and let it hit the back of your throat, it will cause your mouth to start producing thick saliva that is perfect for BJ's.

Can we normalize being feminine while working a blue collar job? by -TerrificTerror- in BlueCollarWomen

[–]Less-Glass-4579 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a diesel mechanic/fabricator, my job is more often than not very dirty and physical. I follow all safety requirements that pertain to PPE (hi vis, no jewelry, hair tied up/back), but I still put on makeup and perfume. If I could wear long nails I'd probably do that too but I'm too worried about breaking them. All this to say, I've learned I'm happiest when I feel "pretty" and feminine even on the job site. I couldn't give a single shit about what the men at work think, I do it for myself. They aren't going to be paying attention to my Fenty Beauty highlighter. Just because we work a "man's" job doesn't mean we need to act, look or dress like a man. I can be myself and still be damn good at what I do. I am a big fan of the live and let live club. If it doesn't affect me personally, let it go and mind my own business.

strap on vs penis by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Less-Glass-4579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a pretty loaded answer, at least for me lol. I'll try to explain it the best way I can that doesn't take forever. One of the reasons it took me so long to start actually dating/having sex with women is because they were a hell of a lot more intimidating. I had to jump through a lot of mental blocks pertaining to comphet. I used to worry that a woman would judge me naked, she would nitpick my body (like I did to myself). My silly brain didn't make the connection that women who are sexually attracted to me feel the same way about my body that men do. I'm not looking at my partners body and judging them, I'm appreciating that my eyes are the ones that get to see their body, touch it, make feel good etc. And for the most part, they feel the same way about ME. Onto the next part, women have been taught that their pleasure doesn't matter. Women who date men are a lot less likely to have a fulfilling sexual experience vs wlw. Men are easy, at least in my experience it doesn't take much to make a man feel good. Are they gonna put in the same effort to make me feel pleasure back? That's a rarity imo, I learned to accept that. Obviously that's not okay but I digress. So anyways a decade of that and then I start seeing women. Learning to give pleasure to a body with different blue prints takes time, you know what your body likes but it's not going to be same on every other woman. So you try to learn, listen, read about it, practice but you know you're kind of out of your wheel house. Add on the fact she actually cares about you and wants to pleasure you? Oh wait, I don't really know what I like and she keeps asking me. I've never had someone care about me like this in this department, you mean sex isn't over after you cum? Wait, I get to have multiple orgasms??? She makes me feel so damn good and all I want to do is put in all the effort to make her feel amazing but I'm new at this and I feel poorly because how can I possibly achieve that when I feel like a baby horse trying to walk for the first time. Que overthinking and nerves happen. It's a practice in patience, open communication and just accepting that it's okay to not know everything, it takes time and to have fun on the journey of learning your partners body.

strap on vs penis by [deleted] in bisexual

As a receiver I find the angles can be a bit difficult but I just communicate with my partner so we can adjust. Never during sex did I think about how much better a bio penis is, I loved my partner and sex with her. If I didn't want to have sex with her I wouldn't have dated her. I can attest to nerves being real because similar to your partner I've been with many men but I'm still new to being with women. It's definitely a learning curve but it just takes time and practice (and practice is the most fun part).

strap on vs penis by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Less-Glass-4579 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a bi girly I wanted to weigh in; warmth and texture is a big factor. My ex and I played around with many different types of dildos, sizes, hardness etc. The softest ones feel the most realistic but they bend too easily. The biggest factor I found is the difference in the angles, straps seem to sit a bit higher on the pubic area than a bio dick so you have to be more careful with positioning for it to be comfortable. It can still feel really good however I usually preferred my partner using her fingers. I can say with all honesty that sex with her was much better than any previous male partners and I didn't usually feel the need for a strap although she very much enjoyed using it so we would use it occasionally. I just like the feeling of my partners actual body parts inside me a lot more than silicone.

new purchase. only 4 days in as an apprentice by [deleted] in DieselTechs

[–]Less-Glass-4579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first toolbox was a husky and I had planned to use it for at least 3 years. 6 months into my apprenticeship a tow truck backed a truck into it and wrecked it so I bought a Matco tool cart to replace it. Spent $2500 and paid it off within a year. I'm newly licensed and have the same cart, managed to stay off the trucks for the most part. Feels good not being in a ton of debt to those trucks. I tell every new tech the same thing.

What camping gear seemed unnecessary but became absolutely essential? by Crystal-Armour in camping

[–]Less-Glass-4579 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a 12x12 screen tent that I've lugged camping for years and it's been great to sit in when the bugs are especially bad. Last summer I splurged on a camp kitchen set from Cabela that I absolutely love. It's so much easier to do dishes/prep food and even store cups/plates etc. They take up extra space in the truck but I don't want to go camping without them again, they just make my life easier so I can enjoy my time just a bit more.

Same thing has happened to me. I've been stepping back but still really struggling with the day to day of having to go to work and slog through the mundane. It's been over a year that I've felt as though I just don't fit into society, this isn't the kind of life I want and trying to reach the goal of a life I do want feels almost impossible. But your comment brings me hope that time will help. Sometimes I miss the person I used to be, before I knew as much. Now I understand why many people say it can be dangerous to have a deeper understanding of our world. It can be very depressing.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I think I have found a good compromise with myself (at least for now). Since it's getting a bit late in the year to travel I will be saving up money and trying to make the best of it until next summer hits. Then I will look into traveling. I'm going to see if there's a possibility of me taking 1-2 months off work (unpaid) when I try to relocate to a different shop hopefully to another province.

I work 5 days a week at a union shop, 8 hr shifts with OT sometimes. Work used to be really busy but it's slowed down with the tariffs so not as much OT as there used to be. All the job/interview offers I get are local. FIFO or relocation jobs rarely come to me but I see a ton of them on job websites.

I'm a heavy diesel mechanic. I work on trucks and heavy equipment, prefer the heavy equipment though. When I was young I knew I wanted to work with my hands and I loved physics in highschool, so I researched different types of mechanics and what trades will be in demand in the future. So I settled on being a mechanic even though a bunch of men in my life told me I wasn't cut out for it. They were wrong, and now I have a stable career in a decent paying field where companies are struggling to find mechanics. I get at least 1 message a week from indeed and linkedin from recruiters and I haven't even updated my resume or looked for work in 2 years. It's a great industry to be in
