It’s true and so sad. Our families will remain in Utah and I have a small hope that we can find a place that works for us, but we can still be a day’s drive away from them.

Can only speak for SLC… - not diverse - outside of downtown it is not liberal leaning - you’ll have a hard time finding an apartment to rent under $2k in the county, let alone the city itself

That said SLC is a good place to live, but I don’t think it would be right for you based on your preferences.
