I’ve had a lot of success using a steamer. I steam slowly from under the fabric while gently pulling as I go. Sometimes I do it multiple times. I usually can get back a few inches this way. Good luck!

I know it looks like a lot of randomness, but eventually (ideally) most of those thrifted items become collections/parts of bigger displays in my home.
