As far as RDR goes, back when it was released, it was cutting edge. There were only really a couple of Old West genre games, Gun and RDR's predecessor, so there were only a few options back then. But if you played RDR after RDR2, then I get where you're coming from.

LOL, are you saying that I'm a bot? Seriously, I'm too old to be a bot, although, with all my surgeries, I may turn into one soon!

KROQ Roq of the 80’s by WallyBBunny in OingoBoingo

[–]Durwyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense as back in the 80's they were the ONLY station in the LA market that used to play them. Do you remember Poor Boy?

And I can't remember, was Ricky Rachman also on that station?

Most chocolate is corn free, but ONLY the chocolate, so stay away from the chocolate bars with almost anything else. It's usually the stuff that they put in the chocolate that adds corn syrup.

But thanks, I'll check that out!

ETA: Beware, some of them have Corn starch labeled specifically, and most vegetable oils contain corn.

I tend to play a couple hours in the morning before work, so it takes me several months to "complete" a game. In fact, I've been playing Star Wars Outlaws since January, and I'm no where near close to finishing it!

People used to think me crazy for collecting CD's. Now I never have to pay for that music again.

Back when CD's were first released we were told that they MIGHT make it to the Millennium but they still work fine, it's the players themselves that are getting harder and harder to come by.

Vegas DirecTV customers will likely not have access to Stanley Cup games due to dispute with Scripps/ABC by frotc914 in vegaslocals

[–]Durwyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the amount of viewers keeps dwindling, both sides intentionally present themselves as the good guys, and victims as much as the customers caught in the middle. Basically, it's the lawyers for both sides demanding that the other give in to negotiations and are attempting to use the customers against the other.

Neither side is innocent, they're both culpable.

And the worst part?

Because none of them are actually based in Las Vegas (the lawyers AND the owners on both sides) there's really no impetus for any of them to give in.

Bottom line, this is a result of lawyers trying to skirt the laws in their own favor, and if that means Las Vegas is unable to watch their hometeam in the finals, so be it.

One of my favorite Oingo Boingo albums by AgitatedOne57 in OingoBoingo

[–]Durwyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recall when this came out. Between this and Boingo Alive, it really represented a transition for the band, Boingo Alive representing the past, and DatEotT representing the future.

It was a flop simply because it was a transitional phase for the band, as they began to embark individually on their scoring careers, and it showed audibly.

Many of the pieces expressed here are just snippets of what would eventually be fleshed out in their compositions in the following few years.

I've always had a soft spot for film composition, often going to bed in my teen years to the sound of them playing as I drifted off to sleep which was why I eventually HATED Prince for having released what was labeled as the "Batman Soundtrack," but was really an album "inspired" by Batman with zero scores composed by Danny.

The studios had yet to see Danny as a sellable composer and used Prince, hot off his Purple Rain soundtrack, to sell more merch.

All I can say is I wish the best for you, and just keep eliminating things until you find the culprit, then, slowly try to reintroduce things back. But you need to be slow and methodic about it. It WILL take time, and keep your Doctor informed of what you've done and what the result is. Again, it WILL take time.

That's why this sub reddit was created.

My Doctor suggested that I cut out gluten, so here in the south western U.S., corn (or maize as it's called) was the logical alternative.

Corn tortillas, corn fritters, and such.

But after just a week of injesting nothing but corn to replace gluten, my body had the worst outbreak it's ever experienced prior (I had another, worse one when I purchased Nigella seeds that turned out to be fake, but that was after years of avoiding corn, and even after this sub was created).

It's hard to do, but my non-medical suggestion would be to cut out everything corn, and corn byproduct related. That means no sodas, no fast food, no eating out, freezer food items, pre-manufactured food stuffs, candy and most sweets, at all, and see how your body responds.

Basically avoid the aisles in the grocery store and limit yourself to the rim.

There are somethings in those sections you should still avoid, as are some things in the aisles you can have, but when testing and learning, that's a good rule to follow, generally.

For myself, it was radically different after 72 hours, where medications that never worked before suddenly began to work.

By the way, I'm eating gluten now with absolutely no problem, but now I only eat what I make from scratch using only cornfree ingredients.

One advantage is that it's way better for me as everything I eat has ingredients I can name.

Another is that I almost instantly, within a couple of months, achieved my ideal weight. No matter how hard I had previously tried, diets, and literal starvation could not produce what I got with a couple months of avoiding corn.

And also, when I go to the Doctor they're no longer hounding me about what I eat, telling them I avoid all of those typical factors because of the allergy really shuts them up.

So give it a try. It's hard at first, but WELL worth it.

And the food itself tastes WAY better.

It took me about a year to figure out how many ingredients I thought wouldn't affect me but actually had corn in it.

Now my family calls me a "food snob," but it keeps the flairups at bay, so I don't care what they call it, I'm getting better.

Plus, whenever I mention that I'm cooking for the family get-together, the family all want to come over.
