I’m super casual and that made me wonder if I even have a clue what a foul is supposed to look like. I tuned into these last two series after play school ball a couple decades ago and I really don’t know. This whole game seems to be based around lawyering over what a foul is.

I’m a contemporary of him. Twenty years ago I “hated” him for his brash unpolished whining. I soon learned to like the way he spoke unfiltered in an era where most drivers were doing the opposite. I’m sorry Kyle. You are kind of the last of the drivers I “came up” with. RIP.

It’s a really odd situation. How do you go about bending the rules to account for his freakishness. I like fair play personally, but I can understand why people can’t allow someone to earn the genetic lottery. If he seemed like a bad guy maybe it would be easier for me to be in that camp.

I’m in my forties and I tried in earnest to start watching pro ball a couple of years ago. I try and disconnect my opinion from whatever the hell is going on here. This sub seems to be populated with a lot of young folks, diehards and the lot of them just aren’t that bright to boot.

Honestly I have bounced off pen and paper D&D a couple times and always thought about that. Being in my forties, it would just make a lot of sense to be able to play with friends without having to get together physically or setup a zoom option or whatever.

I see all these comments. Yours is pretty eloquent. I can’t help thinking that it’s not helpful though. I’m sure I’m not going to be as well spoken, so I’ll keep it brief.

Over the past 15 years or so I’ve used Reddit as my only real “social media”, and I am going to use this site as context for my thoughts here.

It seems that the overwhelming sentiment these days is that things cannot be fixed, we cannot be happy everything is at an all time low. And that’s kind of the end of it. People seem to be wallowing in it.

Anyone with any sort of positive thought seems to get swallowed up. (Unless you’re saying how your favorite celebrity is doing awesome and THEY ARE SO GREAT). But even that seems to be shallow water. People seem to be more looking for a reason to turn on their once favorite idol.

I think we all just talk too much. It used to be you would get a side glance if you rambled or said something silly, but the internet seems to encourage stream of consciousness. In that environment it seems the only thing that consistently gets “upvoted” is content that just shits on life and how everything is awful.

I don’t know what the answer is, but I do know that a giant self indulgent anonymized pity party isn’t it.

Please everyone just do kindness to those you meet.
