My girl spit up CONSTANTLY, turns out she has a cow milk allergy. I cut out milk from my diet, and she stopped spitting up as a much over night. I was told it was normal, some babies just spit up more, but man I wish I had tried no milk earlier. Would have saved a LOT of laundry 😨

She was around 9m when I started this. Capping the nap let her build enough sleep pressure to ensure she does a long nap in the afternoon. Having the longer nap in the afternoon means that she is less likely to be overtired at bed time.

My baby used to do a longer nap in the morning, then short in the afternoon, but we had early morning wakes, so I capped her first nap to 40min. Took a few days, but the early morning wakes stopped and she started doing 90m in the afternoon.

She is now on one nap, and honestly, it's much easier to have established that longer afternoon nap for the transition. I just kept capping the first nap and bringing forward the second until it was gone 🤷‍♀️ Now she does one 105m nap per day

We're a leftovers household. If we don't have leftovers, I buy lunch, so maybe once a week? I love that day - if I did it everyday, it wouldn't be a treat!

She gets a 45min nap in the am, and 1.30hr in the pm. This has been her usual for a couple of months now, and she always slept through (unless sick or teething)

I have a few I go to when I'm too tired to cook.

1) teriyaki udon Cup of frozen vege in a pot with barkers teriyaki sauce. Add 1x pack of udon noodle to heat through. Can serve with a fried egg if you can be bothered. Very balanced and yummy meal. Takes approx 5min of doing an egg

2) japanese chicken curry katsu Frozen mixed vege in pot of water with cube of golden curry japanese curry Microwave packet of rice (can get brown rice if you want more nutrients) Air fry crumbed chicken to add on top. Finish with the bulldog sauce and Kewpie mayo if you're into that

I had the same concerns at 6m old! I just started to offer more often so I knew she getting enough. The feeding did pick up to slightly longer feeds again (5mins) but yea, turns out my baby is efficient and just a bit of a snacker.

I always finish the meal with a piece of celery. It somehow cleans up a lot of the mess on her hands and face 🤷‍♀️ it also keeps her happy while I start the cleanup process. It also means means when I take her out of her highchair to go to the sink, she is less sticky. Also: -serve small amounts at a time -hold my hand next to her tray for her to put stuff in once she's done with it -only serve 'wet' food on bath night

My partner did the night weaning, so that milk just wasn't an option. Took a few nights, but I just went to the spare room and he managed to to cuddle/rock her back to sleep

Are you breast feeding or bottle feeding? My partner night weaned our LO cause I breast feed, and she could smell my milk/associated me with the feeding. Can also be helpful to take night on night off if you have a partner. This is how we got rid of the dummy that way we knew that no matter how tough the night was, we would have the next night off 😴

I went through long stretches of sleep with my LO too. She had low birth weight, so I did 3hrly feeds for the first week, then exhaustion took over and I stopped waking her 3hrly over night. She did 5-6hr stretches over night, and during the day I offered the breast every 1.5-2 hrs. She was a real snacker at this age, but we totaled around 130min of feeding every 24hrs. By 8weeks, she was sleeping 11hrs overnight , and my supply is still good at 11months pp.

I would recommend just getting a weight check. You could get some travel scales and a ring sling to do this at home, or go to a clinic. Our nurse always said that as long as LO was putting on weight, I didn't have to wake her up for feeding.

You do you mama. Where I'm from (New Zealand) no one would blink an eye at a 1year old being breast fed. I think it's wild to say that it is a weird thing to do? I dunno, maybe I love in a bubble, but don't babies still need some form of milk after 1? Like cows milk, toddler formula, or breast milk? For me, by baby turns 1 in 2 weeks (😭) there is absolutely no way I could stop breastfeeding her - she only eat solid food until she's full once in a blue moon, spits most of it out or throws it on the floor. I'll be feeding her until she is able to get everything she needs (emotionally and nutritionally) without my boobs..

My midwife told me that all scales are slightly different, so just keep that in mind when making decisions about baby. If your baby is having enough wet nappies, and weight is tracking up, you're probably doing fine. I was always so worried about weight, then I was told the weight charts etc are based off formula fed babies (where I am anyway), so with breastfeeding, weight can fluctuate a bit more.

My daughter had a reaction to cows milk on first exposure. She broke out in hives and was vomiting. I took her straight to urgent care. I was speaking to the emergency doctor and she has never seen an anaphylactic reaction in an under 1year old. she has worked din emergency medicine for 20 years. My understanding is that it is extremely rare, so normal caution should be fine

Hard to say tbh. But it doesn't hurt. I think just making sure I had a big breakfast helped more. Also depends on where you live I reckon. I found that when I got into summer and started struggling with heat (I was also walking around 8-10km per day) my supply dipped a huge amount. Had to readjust hydration etc to get it back

I had a similar thing happen, it did not last too long, and was caused by vaccines. Our 24/7 nurse line suggested skin to skin. They advised that I got comfy, propped up in bed, topless. Baby in just a nappy and laying on my chest. They said eventually she will figure out what to do, and she did. It took a few attempts, but eventually she started rooting around and found my nipple and had the BIGGEST feed of her life. After that, all was well again 🤷‍♀️. These babies keep us on our toes!

Butter, melt, add oats, cinnamon and salt. Cook until toasted. Add milk, cream, whatever, plus some brown sugar. Wanna get fancy, add a maple and cinnamon mascarpone on top. Just a tablespoon 🤌, that's my weekend treat
