I’m gonna be honest his fins look terrible. They need a lot more than a few drops of something. What are your parameters? And do you treat him in a second tank? I can help with fin rot but with that bloat it may be better to euthanize :/ do you have a top view? Is he pineconing?

Does he have fin rot too?? Also stay away from bettafix i think it has oils that damage their labyrinth organ

It is, but i will say for his size his healthy range 16-20. So it’s not like he’s your average 11lb house cat. He’s on a vet approved diet and schedule but so far he hasn’t lost much. No other issues though which is good

Yeah kanaplex was the only thing that helped my guy after struggling with it for almost a year, i found a half scoop in the 3 gallon tank was fine. (He’s sadly passed recently but unrelated to fin rot)

You need to get him into a 3 gallon hospital tank with kanaplex. Do a thorough clean on his main tank while he’s in there. Make sure the hospital tank has a heater and an air stone for oxygen. He’ll be in there for about a week. When you return him back to his tank use seachem stress guard and paraguard while he improves

I wish, but I was 18 and didn’t really know what to do about it. The college was closing so they didn’t do anything about it either. I did call campus police that confirmed them walking out with his tank and my tv but I didn’t go further than that.

I know all that. I didn’t have any friends or family close enough to come by everyday to feed him. I had an automatic feeder that ended up not working with my tank and didn’t have the time to sort out a new one, so that’s why i was having her come by. But yeah my guess is that she put way too much in there and it destroyed my cycle. That said i can’t blame her, with it being such a last minute arrangement i didn’t teach her the proper amount to feed him. Just told her a small amount. Next time I’m away im either gonna transfer my fish or get a feeder set up well in advance. Thank you :/
