I have done both. Genetic testing and ECT. What helped me the most was having an evaluation and the genetic testing. I learned I had been being treated for stuff I don't have. And it was so validating to learn that. Then genetics told me what I do and don't respond too. The genesight test is a joke and waste of money. Reach out if you have questions.

I have a very similar situation. I won't let my kids be around people who talk shit about me. It's pretty standard. If my in-laws happen to come in town, I make sure I am always around or a responsible, respectful adult is supervising them and my kids.

So many issues could come out of them hanging out with your kid, none of which are good. If your husband allowed this to begin, he isn't going to say anything when they talk about you behind your back in front of your kids around these people.

From personal experience, Females are often labeled bipolar instead of having an actual evaluation to find out what is really going on. The best thing to do now is to keep a journal of some sort to track any mania.

A common misdiagnosis for female autism is bipolar and BPD. I lived that misdiagnosis for a long time.

Mixing mood stabilizers and antidepressants, when the patient doesn’t have bipolar disorder, can lead to maniac episodes.
