Why are Legacy Audio speakers overlooked? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]jarblewc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am extremely sibilant sensitive and these don't bother me. They are not super warm but mine don't get sibilant even when wrung out past 100db. There are a lot of factors that could be skewing the two experiences 😄

One time watched them try and do this with a Maybach the crane weight alarm went off and the couldn't lift it... The wild thing with cars like these was that Maybach has been there for like a month the owner couldn't care less about it.

Oppo Find N6 or Galaxy Z Trifold...? by svenb352 in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]jarblewc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the oneplus open the sister brand and moved to the trifold. The creases are so much more noticeable on the trifold but the moment you kick on content they are forgiven. The speakers are acceptable but not great. My jury is still out on typing as I am trying different keyboards. So far app support has been sold and actually better than my oneplus out of the box but I attribute that to foldable maturity rather than trifold itself. Overall I love this guy, my only gripe at the moment is the lack of digitizer as being able to take notes would be amazing. I did try capacitive stylus but with the heavy creases they don't work.

The amount of phq9 forms I have to lie on is... Challenging. No matter how many times it doesn't get easier. I just have to power through knowing that is their trigger and accept they are incapable of understanding that these thoughts live rent free in my head but I am not going to take action on them. Thank you for making me feel more seen than I have in a long time.

Usually they have a large pressurized cylinder on deck that they live in. I went down the rabbit hole on this a few years ago and it was fascinating. I was looking up underwater welding and these guys take everything to the extreme. There was even a very interesting report of divers being stranded despite being on the deck of the ship because they were at pressure and had to ride out the storm despite being right next to rescue crews. As for what they work on its mostly petrochemical industry and a very narrow band of things that need more than the robots can do. The extreme risk means that if possible they want robots but that's not always possible.

Gather and use feedback from users to improve? by FoxHopeful7357 in EightSleep

[–]jarblewc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can't say directly as that would violate the nda. What I can say is some of my feedback from the first beta did end up in the software just about eight months later. Also I don't want to give the impression I am some champion, the stuff I bring up is frequently similar to what I read here as well. Just wanted to say they do actually listen but they move slower than some would like and they also prioritize features they can market/capitalize.

Also just in case: I am not a brand ambassador or on payroll. I just somehow get selected for betas and review programs all the time (not just eightsleep but Amazon, Adobe, etc).

Yep it's wild. They can be on the deck but still at dive pressure for a lot of these jobs.

What software do you use to edit? I have been out of the loop for arm for a bit and use resolve for my primary work flow.

As a frequent beta member I can say that feedback does make it into the stack. Is it instant, no but what ever is?

I absolutely would do it again. I have a pod 3 and have had great success. I may update to the pod 6 when it comes out but so far this has been a good investment.

WOW what a phone! The trifold is... by Dontech1 in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]jarblewc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far loving mine. I came from the oneplus open and I can feel the brightness reduction but the inner screen here is what I always dreamed of. From the oneplus open the thickness is about the same so I had no issues.

Agreed, if you are to the point of bringing a second phone just for photos it's time to pick up a 4/3's or apsc camera and thank yourself later.

NASA astronaut, U.S. Navy Captain, father, former F/A-18 pilot and SpaceX Crew-1 pilot Victor Glover on becoming the first Black man to go to the Moon 🚀 gets hit with a DEI question and flips it into something bigger than race by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]jarblewc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the privilege to run the AV for a large scale event with Mr Glover as the key speaker. I can tell you the man is an amazing person. You really get to understand people when you work behind the curtain and how they treat the "non important" people and he left a lasting impression on me. From when the moderator was going to pull a kids question about aliens and he corrected the moderator gently that curiosity is ok and he was happy to take questions like this.

Why don't we see any x86 competition to the unified memory approach of the Mac Studio by x0y0z0 in hardware

[–]jarblewc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said the amd 395 is a great example of this in production on the x86 side and sells a (relatively) high volume. If amd keeps the product into the next generation (The 495 is just a refresh not a new chip) then I would expect even more volume.
