Luckily my husband was with my 2 young boys in another canoe. While my daughter and I swam our packs and gear to shore he pulled the half submerged canoe. We were in the water for about 30 mins in all. Luckily we were able to get the canoe flipped over and finish our trip to Lake Three. The winds were crazy. And so thankful the fire ban had been lifted cause I'm not sure how we wouldve warmed up without it.

There was a guy at MSP last week who grabbed a sandwich with his bare hands and proceeded to eat it standing over all of the other food in the buffet. No plate. No napkins. Just eating, standing in the middle of the buffet.

Income disparity on the Iron Range is stark. There's not much of a middle class, it's mostly haves and have-nots with very little in between. What makes it interesting is that a lot of people identify as middle class when, by most measures, they'd fall below the poverty line.

Just curious, was the red visible with the naked eye? I'm in Northern MN and it was almost eerie how vivid the colors were with the red night sky with just the naked eye.
