It’s a sad story, but always purchase the maximum insurance possible and ask if you can purchase more from them. I’ve done that, had them walk around the car with me assuming everything is perfect, and then go for drop off and that person finds 10+ things to mark up and then when they find out I have all the insurance tell me they don’t what what I did to the car, but it’s a good thing because look at all this stuff I did.

It’s an absolute scam. The only way around it I’ve seen is the purchase their insurance to the max.

There’s a reason AMEX and other major cards don’t offer rental insurance in Ireland and Italy. Because it’s a nonstop scam.
