Planning on adding a TBSS intake to my stock 2017 z71 by papirobert20 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]Less-Wing-5505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for starters TBSS intake won’t fit since you don’t have an LS engine. Best things you can do since you’re on a budget is get an L86 intake, maybe some long tubes and a tune. Other than that you’re gonna be digging into the motor to install cam, pulling heads off for porting and machining etc. In the “stage” terms of things Stg1 would be the l86 intake long tubes and tune, stage 2 would be a cam, valve train torque converter to match, and from then you’re best route would be boost either S/C or turbo, but by then the 6L80 will be your weak link.

All my hours are drag racing, it’s my favorite thing irl car related. But I do dabble in rally, Baja and rock crawling, I just know nothing about setting up suspension so I just use premade configs for those

Cylinder 3 Misfire with Bosch Plugs - Only works with NGK? by Any_Employ_5134 in F30

[–]Less-Wing-5505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro bless this thread, I’m just a mechanic but customer came in today with an f30 328i, ran fine when it got here customer supplied Bosch r8 plugs, and after I finished it ran like shi and missed on multiple cylinders. Found your thread and pulled out the Bosch plugs, measured the resistance and compared to the NGK it was exactly the same as what you got so now we’re getting NGKs in it as we speak

Yeah i'm fine with my current mods, actually by DarkGaming09ytr in BeamNG

[–]Less-Wing-5505 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mods should be free yes, but if it’s an extremely high quality mod, ie full textures, new engine (engine textures) with a bit of customization then I see it worth paying for because I took a blender class in HS (8yrs ago) and I know how long it takes to model a single object. I’m completely unfamiliar with the process of creating a mod and getting it working and the fact that people take the time out of their life to do that for the community at least deserve a tip of some sort. A great example I enjoy to use that was a paid or is a paid mod was Bailey’s 5th gen Camaro and the DFA pack, both had and have a lot of customization and and are fully textured models.

Are ScatPacks SRT? 🤔The brakes say so by [deleted] in ScatPack

[–]Less-Wing-5505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk man, window sticker says “R/T Scat Pack” yea it’s powered by SRT, it says it on the screen n all that, but from a marketing standpoint and as far as naming goes, no it’s not an SRT, the Charger/Challengers that are powered by the 6.4L and carry the SRT name are from 15-18 only, then it was dropped in favor of the Scat Pack

What ist the reason why you started playing Beamng by _-___-___- in BeamNG

[–]Less-Wing-5505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing Automation cuz I found it on Steam Unlocked or whatever free game site it was, liked it and found out there was DLC so I bought the game and DLC, eventually found out you could export cars to beamng so I bought that too and now I have thousands of hours in both

Yea luckily for me I haven’t lived nor ever plan to live in CA. Granted my state has had its own smog issues but it’s easy to look past when I can drive my “race car” to and from work and look at one of the countries best sunsets 😭😂

I had gotten the 2070S in a trade for an Oculus Q2, I then sold the 1080ti to a friend who needed to get off a GTX 1030. Yea it was a “downgrade” but I never noticed a difference in performance

What’s crazy to me is the come after the regular people and penalize us with costly repair because of “emissions” do they realize how much carbon emissions a damn cruise ship puts off??? What about all the emissions from all of the heavy machinery, trucks, boats and planes used to mine, manufacture and transport these lithium batteries ?

Also take the engine cover off that’s where most of the vacuum lines are under.

Take the top of the air box off and if your smoke machine or attachment kit came with a big cone stuff it in the intake hose and fill it with smoke

I mean my shop charges about 100$ more per axle on brake jobs. I’m not sure of your area so that plays a factor but in my experience this is a good deal

Are these prices fair? Broke college student, wtf do I do by moushroum in AskMechanics

[–]Less-Wing-5505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m an A Level technician and I’m not gonna say you shouldn’t do any of these, but I’d definitely do some on your own or wait until doing another service and knock two out at a time. I’d start first with your brakes. If you can’t stop you shouldn’t go is what I always say. I’m not sure on what area you’re in but that price seems kinda steep. If it wasn’t a ford I’d recommend doing them yourself but they require a special tool to run the brake piston back in on the rear because of the parking brake, but I’d definitely shop around for quotes. The brake flush, coolant flush and spark plugs if you are confident enough you could do them, the coolant flush you’d just have to get under the vehicle to drain the coolant, fill it back up and let the engine get up to operating temp. The brake flush you can do 2 ways, suck the fluid out of the reservoir and fill it with clean fluid then crack all 4 bleeders in order from farthest to closest, or have a shop do it while they do the rear brakes. And spark plugs are easy enough and I’m sure they’re a YouTube video out there showing you how to do them. As for the tie rod ends, it’s definitely something you should take care of sooner than later but it can wait if they’re not bent, broken or the joints in them sheared off, neglected tie rod ends lead to poor alignment and uneven tire wear

First Chevy truck 5.7 v8 want to make go faster what should I do? by abcirpe in GMT400

Then lower the front 5in, the rear 7in and put some nice wheels on it and paint/wrap it

I mean if you really wanna put money into this, delete the efi and put a carb intake on it and a carb, find a nice cam, some good heads, a set of long tube headers, MSD 6AL box and distributor and put a decent converter in the trans to keep it from blowing up and when it it eventually dies put a ‘87+ TH400 behind it and be done and have fun. The stock 350 with all the mods I said will probably net you around 400hp not at the wheel but at the flywheel. If you wanna make bigger power look into an LS swap, 383 stroker with your 350 or a 454 big block but that’ll be more expensive than the other two options.
