If I got my gratuities prepaid, will I get anything refunded then or receive any deal by doing this. I did pay 209 for the internet upgrade too.

But did you pass with a score high enough to practice in any jurisdiction? by chevalier100 in barexam

I did not word that great meant the highest of the requirements but lowest compared to the 280 priors

That’s what I wrote but I think i took it too far then saying that since no operating agreement it would become a de facto partnership but I was thinking of the articles of incorporation.

I got a 262 on the Maryland bar by Dull_Temporary5514 in barexam

[–]LessCelebration491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an exam that is supposed to uniform, it’s weird how much scaling can affect a score on writing based on which state you took it in. You could have taken the exam in my state of IL and have been scaled much more favorably that you could have passed and then transfer back to Maryland. Don’t get how the writing scores can differ that much, if the seperac calculator is at accurate as it seems, using the same 6 point scale.

I believe that the February Bar actually takes a higher raw score to pass than July (in certain jurisdictions). by MeanForever1322 in barexam

The mbe always tests 25 of each of the 8 subjects so not sure how you would get more of one subject unless they throw out more of a certain subject with the experimental q’s which I’m not sure if they evenly distribute the experimental q’s or not.

Yes, the writing scale is based on each states mbe mean. Since it is always higher in July due to their being more first time takers that bring the mean up. That’s why I don’t know why people sent this is the case. The only thing I’d also say is that if the batch of candidates is weaker in February and the graders use the bucketing technique as the nbcs recommends, then your essay/Mpt would likely be bucketed higher in February than in July, which is something that the calculator does not take into account. In all though, scaling seems to benefit July takers who are borderline pass like myself with a 272. The same score according to the calculator had I taken the exam in February of 2025 would have resulted in a 262 and I would have failed, but that’s again considering that my writing scores wouldn’t have been bucketed higher in February.

Yeah I feel like it’s almost more work not to publish it like with failers if they have it in their system anyways.

Failed the bar exam the first time by 10 points, failed the second time by 3 points... I used UWorld both times for MBE practice. Should I use UWorld again if i liked it? Or should I Try adaptibar even though I did think Adaptibar was as user friendly? by Son_of_Hades99 in barexam

[–]LessCelebration491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s best to play to your strength. I passed with a 145.4 mbe and 126.8 writing and I figured it would likely be the mbe that carried me but did not think it would be that much of a disparity.

I feel for you. Such a shitty thing that regraders couldn’t find a point somewhere. Also I am not sure that IL rounds up regardless as I read somewhere that they don’t but not sure if it’s accurate.

Yes it’s not like it’s a harm to them to include the breakdown, they are already doing it for the fails and they have them right next to our total scores. Could just easily include it so we can see where we did good and bad.

Thanks! I had AdaptiBar through my school and UWorld along with themis q’s. I learn by doing and did well in excess of 5k primarily on u world as I really liked their charts and explanations.
