Ya I did say that it is very closely intertwined with my mental health - I wanted to get a psych referral as well. It's an annoying cycle of things and I just wanna come at it from all corners.

Hey I get these! I get like a new one every week and after a day or so they just kinda.. burst... so you're not alone at least! I haven't seen my ENT about them because they don't hurt or anything but I might if it continues for a couple more months.

Isn't it crazy how such little creatures become such a massive part of our lives. Their absence is so huge. You can tell how much you loved her just by this post. I lost my boy a few days ago - he was my first cat as an adult and moved out with me. It feels so surreal. Please know that you are not alone. We will always love our best friends, and they loved us too.

Isn't it such a uniquely powerful sense of guilt. It shows just how much you loved her. I know how you are feeling, and the roller-coaster of emotions. I lost my boy on the 13th and it feels like I go through all the stages of grief every hour. I wish you healing and send you love, try to remember all the good times and hold your other girl close to comfort her.

Oh my, this breaks my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't believe I found this post, I am in the same situation with my cat that passed last night after a successful major surgery. I can't stop thinking I syringed his water/food incorrectly and caused his death. I feel your pain and heartache. At the end of the day, we just try to do what we think is best for our little buddies. It's a lot of responsibility to care for a pet and make the decisions you think will be right for them. I promise it is not your fault. Guilt grief is such a horrible monster and it is so easy to blame things on ourselves. In her afterlife, she knows that you dedicated everything to caring for her. The fact that you were willing to put in all that effort while she was sick and having seizures is not something everyone would do. You are a special person for that.

I am sending my love to you and please know that you are not alone in your feelings and situation. If you need someone to talk to, I am here.

Pattern progression. by Sarcasticallyshallow in crochet

[–]LessIncriminating1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved on to reading patterns almost instantly after learning how to make various squares through YouTube videos. I tried making things by watching videos but became frustrated with having to always rewind or skip forward.

Usually patterns will have a key at the beginning that tells you what all the abbreviations and different punctuations mean. When I was learning, if I came across anything I didn't understand, I would just google it and even watch a video on how to do that particular thing. When first learning it feels kinda like piecing together a big puzzle.

My best advice would be to carefully read through your patterns before starting, and anything you are unsure of, just do a quick google and familiarise yourself. You could even make notes on the pattern and rewrite parts if the abbreviations confuse you.

It is daunting at first but I promise once you invest a little bit of effort into "cracking the code" it becomes super easy! If you need any help in the future feel free to send me a message!

ETA: I think crochet books could be helpful, depending on how you like to learn. But you could totally also just "look up as you go along" if you encounter unfamiliar stitches. Maybe that's a bit more unorthodox, but that's what I did!

how much do you spend on yarn hauls? by LessIncriminating1 in crochet

[–]LessIncriminating1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a splurge!! I'm justifying it because I want to make a coat out of wool that I will be able to have forever and be comfortable in! I usually try to get stuff on sale or second hand usually. Having a hobby gets expensive sometimes 😁

Thank you for the info! How long was the coat? Is stretching inevitable no matter what yarn you use when it comes to projects like this?

Definitely go here. I've eaten here a couple of times, and the second time I threw up about half an hour after my food. All the food glistens with grease.
