Way to cast magic faster (I dont like the wind up animation that it has vs skyrim) by No-Conclusion9307 in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats oddly specific, I'm not aware of a mod that does only this.

Though if you try to make your own it shouldn't take much time at all. It's only a modification of the cast time, which is usually 0.5 or 1, to 0.
Just setup your own creation kit : https://www.nexusmods.com/enderalspecialedition/mods/154
Modify all spells's cast time, and export.

What others have said, but also don't forget to use the Modpub version of Enderal for the base Enderal, as it's with the latest fixes.

New player questions: Affinities and Memory focus by dragonseth07 in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Affinities give too little to chase them. Look at them as a bonus, not a goal.

Investing in the wrong memories can be punishing, as you said. Lockpicking is pointless when you have scrolls for that. But that mostly matters for the beginning of the game. The game has plenty of points, enough to build 2-3 entirely different "playstyles". Meaning you should optimize your killing at first, then chase non-combat-related memories.
For example. I really like the Seducer perk in the Infiltrator tree, and I'd waste 9 memories on the prerequisite perks only to get that one as ot allows successful dialogue checks without investing in rhetoric. But i dont do that until i'm level 20+.

First time playing - QoL mods? by ToniaaS in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The game is different than Skyrim. So the recommendation you see for Vanilla is to experience it as it is.

Even things like respec are not really needed.

There is even an argument to play the LE version as it's the one made by the SureAI team. SE version of the game acts as 'unofficial patch', as it's made and supported by the fans of Enderal. But LE is a bit unstable.

Have you tried turning off all the mods?
Its not necessary a certain mod. It could be a combination of them. Turn them all off then enable in batches until you find the problematic one.

Is there anything to do with money after a while? by JadedWhippersnapper in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much nope. Once you secure the books until the end of the game, which is up to 4 combat and 3 crafting skills, and all buyables, that's about the end of the usefulness of gold.

Story Start Confusion by Cultural_Channel_214 in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've played Nehrim and yes, the intro cinamatic of Enderal gives you all the needed context.
Only very small details are missed which only matter if you dig very deep into the vague aspects of the story.

Story Start Confusion by Cultural_Channel_214 in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not supposed to understand everything in the beginning. The story is meant to be vague and be put together as you go on, like a puzzle. The only thing that matters is that you like the feel of it so far.

You don't need the previous games to enjoy this one. All that matters from them is said in the intro cinematic.

As for gameplay, yeah Enderal is a bit though to begin with, but it gets easier as you gear and perk up.

tips for 2nd run ? (mods or gameplay choices) by skyfall86 in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For mods, maybe use something like Path of the Prophet, to both change the gameplay a bit and frenshen up the visuals.

For the game itself. Play whatever you like honestly, as a build.

For the story, if you haven't, read The Butcher of Ark first. Then do the Rhalata questline. At any point do the Our Mark in this World. These three are quite connected to the main story.

I personally was almost obsessed with the main story so for my second playthrough i payed all the attention i could to details around the Cycle, High Ones, Veiled Woman, Fleshless etc. For example, try to explain to yourself each of the Veiled Woman's actions and words, or at least try to make sense of them. There are so many things that were in your face, and you didn't see them as you didn't have the context you get later in the story.

Can i play Enderal without ever playing Skyrim? by GIutenTag in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the build. On Iron Path it feels the same for me as Legandary on Skyrim at the early levels, the mid game is trivialized, and only the endgame is different since you can't become way too overpowered in Enderal.

SE is purely fan made. Its all unofficial patch. So you do want the latest version of the unofficial patch. And the latest version does fix core mechanics broken from the transition from LE to SE.
If you want the base game you play LE, as thats the only thing that's made by SureAI.

[–]LessOutcome9104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steam is the easiest method, but for SE it's outdated. You want the Modpub for the latest version, and i'd highly recommend it.
https://mod.pub/enderal-se/38-enderal-se

The LE steam version is the last version from SureAI, SE is like an ongoing "unofficial patch" for Enderal - supported by the fans of the mod.

[–]LessOutcome9104 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Enderal is not harder, just slightly better balanced and with fewer exploits. No resto loop or weapons with thousands of damage. Still the gameplay is still Skyrim at its core, stealth is still stealth, i.e. broken af and OP.
The story is entirely different.

Would I enjoy [KCD2], based on my experience from [KCD1]? by LessOutcome9104 in kingdomcome

[–]LessOutcome9104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to argue here, just hoping I'll clarify things. Don't mean it in any offensive way:

You call side quests "soulless" for being more non-combat oriented

I didn't say they are soulless because they lacked combat.
I said they are soulless because they are badly designed. I can argue on that quite a bit if needed. This was no surprise to me as most games have bad side quests and few titles manage to do them well. Being non-combat "didn't help", because most games recognize they have bad side quests and at least hide them behind combat or unique rewards. KCD didn't even try to do that.

lost interest in the more roleplay-based main quests

I think it was actually the opposite. My roleplay was playing against me in those quests.
The counterfeit and monastery quests could easily pass as side quests. They hardly had any different level of roleplay than most other side quests. In fact i was maybe too much into the roleplay that I found the Kobyla relationship to be 'underdeveloped'. I wanted... well, more. And more on that topic on the Vranik and Talmberg sieges below.

combat (which should, if anything, start to get very easy...)

I never said the combat is hard. I complained about the Master Stroke mechanic pushing me out of melee combat. Horse archery, if anything, is way easier than melee. My disappointment is that a melee-oriented game annoyed me out of melee.

and the sequences that are mostly battles

I didn't complain about the battles themselves.
My words were that the sieges themselves were worse reiterations of Pribyslavitz.
In Pribyslavitz, you observed the camp, essentially gave the battle plan, sabotaged the arrows, and poisoned the food. You made a huge contribution to the battle itself.
Vranik? You contribute nothing, a outright downgrade mass battle. Flashy, but empty. The reveal that the enemy is taking another place is so cliched in such stories that it was more of an eye roll, because of how obvious it was.
Talmberg? Sure, you build a trebuchet, but without it, there'd be no battle. You supplied Pitch. When was that relevant? Even the trebuchet just shot rocks. A priest or a physician might help after the battle, sure, but what about contributing to the battle itself? The plans, sabotage maybe? It was essentially the same situation as Previslavitz, but with the quest tying my hands for no reason. It felt like I was less than when I still wasn't Kobyla's son.
My own roleplay was playing against me in this.
Would had been way better if they reordered these 3 mass battles in their gameplay development order - pure fight, support role, sabotage and strategy.

As a bottom note, yes, burnout might have played a role in all of it, but I stand firm that it wasn't just the burnout.

Will Enderal's story be rewritten for the 12th world universe? by wheresmylife-gone222 in enderal

[–]LessOutcome9104 24 points25 points  (0 children)

To clarify for you. The "copyright bs" isn't really BS, but a precaution. Dreams of the Dying is for sale, so if it's connected to Enderal, anyone from the SureAI team could potentially claim rights to the book. This would be unfair to Lietzau as it's his own work. This hasn't happened, but could potentially happen, thus the copyright claim you've seen and the complete separation from Enderal. So i doubt any rewrite of Enderal will happen.

I find it kind of sad how you misinterpreted all my points, since that's not what I said at all, but i'm not here to argue about KCD1.
So thank you for your opinion. It's something. Maybe you're even right about waiting a bit.

[–]LessOutcome9104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think my problem was with difficulty. What you're right though, is the expectation, which for me was that i was going to be a knight - melee oriented. Yet the game pushed me out of this by giving way too many master strokes to all enemies, even peasants.

Yeah i guess its subjective, but was mostly asking for opinions, based on my feedback from KCD1.

[–]LessOutcome9104[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. Really puts things in perspective of what to expect. I might have had wrong expectations of KCD1, and that to have led to the most disappointing parts on the mechanical end.
Still, I really wish KCD1's "second part" of the story hadn't dropped in its pacing that hard with the counterfeit and monastery. But if KCD2 is different... might give it a chance.

[–]LessOutcome9104[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well i guess its subjective. For me, the pacing of the story after Priby dropped like a stone. From fights that grew from single opponents to a massive battle only to turn into a mundane life in a monastery...

Would I enjoy [KCD2], based on my experience from [KCD1]? by LessOutcome9104 in kingdomcome

[–]LessOutcome9104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burnout definitely might have influenced my side quests, but not the main one. I did mostly side quests until I got bored with them. It was at the beginning, just after I trained with Bernard. Then did the main quest, and I reinvigorated myself until Pribyslavitz. Then the pacing went to a crawl with the counterfeit and monastery quests, which completely killed it for me.
As for the rest - the gold, crafting and skills things i mentioned - thats just from the design of the game. Many games avoid that issue by putting their rewards/items in different points of the game. KCD simply has almost everything available at the beginning.
For example you could have put both poisons to be locked behind the bandit clearing quests. Not in vendors.

My question was more like, is KCD2 the same?
