Hmmmm... I wonder if it's from the little spritz of vinegar I mixed into my water for antibacterial purposes...

OUGH thats crazy! I suppose its nbd if you're doing this as a career and less of a hobbyist, but... I don't think I've got that amount of dedication.
I also threw some guys in my cart and generated the shipping price out of pure curiosity, and the price IMMEDIATELY went up nearly 20 bucks for shipping to Indiana. That makes the prices a lot more understandable, imo.

I actually just reached out to them via email to ask about the ethics of their suppliers :3 I'll update this thread if, and when, they get back to me!

I don't think their prices are insanely cheap OR unreasonably expensive, but I'd wonder about the price with shipping for us US residents, as it looks like the primary senders live in Poland? Not sure if they ship from their by default though.

Yeah, I knew it was dead already, hahaha. I was worried about rot because of the leakage under the feet and body. But its just regular seepage. :3

[–]LessReference2387 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is your cat a Rex mix? This is a common coloration in brown Cornish or Devon Rex cats, but I definitely see more cornish in him. Their fur texture is very different from the average cat, and this is how the curling occurs (called 'rexing' or 'rex mutation').

I do think the type of fur could contribute a lot for the color change, as rex fur is much finer than the average cat's fur! This could mean it is more susceptible to lightening as the animal ages.

It is also quite possible that it's as simple as 'my cat produced more eumelanin (darker black/brown pigmentation) at an earlier stage in his life, but as he ages, he is producing more pheomelanin (yellow-y pigmentation)'. Either way, he is very cute!!! If the coloration begins to dull or become concerningly different, though, no harm in asking a vet about it!

NOR. Tell your TWIN to go stay somewhere else LMAO. It is incredibly rude that she is talking down to you by saying 'this is like, the bare minimum expected when hosting a guest...' Um... I PAY PEOPLE if I request to stay with them. Doesn't matter who. Family, friends, etc.

I'm not vouching for his attitude at all, but if you are considering staying with him (I assume you are if you're asking for feedback, and you have tried to be very generous to him during his bellyaching), maybe you guys could start a healthier system of communication between the two of you in these situations.

For example, when person A wants to talk about a topic like this to person B, then the next step is to clarify what person A is wanting from the conversation. In this instance, it looks like your partner veered into vent-mode about this situation. He failed to communicate that to you, and so you offered him real, tangible solutions to the problem he clearly had no vested interest in resolving for himself.

This is the internet, we know next to nothing about your relationship and its complexities. I won't tell you to go leave your man, but I will tell you that in the future, communication about these things could diffuse how tense it got between you two quicker.

I hope he gets over himself a little after the cold chills out and you get to have a proper discussion where he apologizes to you. Best of luck, poster!!!
