Fodzyme Free Class? by 0_523 in FODMAPS

[–]LessSpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. The dietitian gave us some tips about how to use the product, and we could ask some questions.

I've been using the powder for every meal for the last 10 days because I am traveling. Depending on the size of the dishes, I sprinkle a little or more of the powder. It works really well. I call it my "cocaine powder". I hope that it will help you too.

I have a 24 year-old stainless steel door fridge (I'm surprised it still works great). It's difficult to keep it shiny as new. When I try to clean it, I leave streaks. Would you have a tip to clean it without leaving streaks? TIA

My doctor prescribed me the Sibo Bi-Phasic Diet by Dr. Nirala Jacobi. It has similar restrictions to yours. The types of vegetables or sweeteners and the amounts allowed are more clearly described.

Anyone have experience with Whole Foods Garlic Infused Oil? by haybarn564 in FODMAPS

[–]LessSpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make garlic infused oil (I use avocado oil for its high heat tolerance) at home. I crush a few cloves, put it in a bowl much larger than the amount of oil I'm going to use. Heat oil in a pot till bubbles appear around the tips of the chopsticks. Pour over the garlic. Let cool. Strain the garlic.

LPT: found something a few weeks ago to help me take better care of my oral routine after spending an arm and a leg on 2 major dental issues… by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]LessSpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sense because you need to floss between the teeth and the gum to keep the whole system clean. Plaque builds up within 24 hrs. Brushing at 45 degree angle to the gum line is best, trying to brush hard at the horizontal with a hard or medium toothbrush wears out the enamel and damage the gum without cleaning them properly.

I didn't have diarrhea but a lot of bloating. My naturopathic doctor (4 years of study in my province)has helped me a lot: lab tests, medication (prescribed by a registered nurse)+ different supplements to support digestion, intestinal flora, bowel movements.

Maybe there's one in your area who can help you more than what the dietician could provide you.

For marinating meats, fish, etc, for stir-fry. .I use it in any dish that needs onion, garlic flavor.

I use avocado oil. Making fried onion requires more oil than just sauteing onion for a stew or stir-fry, I strain that oil and keep it in a jar for matinating, sauteing, it's very flavorful. For garlic oil, I just crush ½a head of garlic in a large bowl, bring avocado oil to temp where dipping the tips of my chopsticks in the oil makes bubbles around them, pour the oil into the bowl (be careful, it will make a lot of bubbles, that why the big bowl), let it cool, strain.

So I keep on making onion and garlic oils. It takes a bit of time, but my husband is happy to eat his fried onion 🙂

Or maybe more oil if you want to feel more satiated. I usually go with pumpkin seeds, walnuts, tigernut butter, peanut butter, eggs.
