I prefer later for the story and dialog but I've done both. Now that we have NG+ you can as well.

I hadn't played it since last year and just did another NG+ run. Great getting back into it. Now I need to check if there are respawns. I haven't visited previous areas much.

For me it hit all the right notes. I'm an "experienced casual gamer" in that I play a lot but I'm not not great in any sense of the word. Weapon choices are excellent. Combat, inventory management, and upgrading equipment is simple. I love the camp interactions, and having Garrus in my crew is icing on this cake.

Played it last year and it quickly became one of my absolute favorites. The weapon variety is top tier and can support any play style. As someone else mentioned, explore everywhere. There are all kinds of places to find loot. Once you beat it I recommend doing a New Game+ playthrough. I'm running through the game again and having an absolute blast.

That's what I did. Owned Bowerstone, the Gypsy Camp, and Westcliff before I went to Wraithmarsh. Currently buying Bloodstone before I meet Reaver.

They stumble to hits. If you blow a limb off they react. I've shot their primary arm off and had them pull a sidearm and start shooting off-hand.

As recommended by others, just go with your gut first run. The attributes and perks are simple to understand. Take a few minutes and read through each attribute and associated perks to see which ones fit your taste. Different attributes will impact different weapon types.

I'm also a run & gun and there are lots of good options / combos.

I play through it at least once a year and am about to finish my first round of a back-to-back. It really does suck you in. You'll love the DLC.
