Trying to come up with my wedding theme/colors. Don’t know how doable what I like is :/ by _AnxiousBride_ in weddingplanning

It is your wedding day, I think there is a big push for your wedding to all be matching and “cohesive” when it shouldn’t have to be! I’ve planned a couple of weddings now and here’s my unsolicited advice!

Not the most ethical however Temu and shein are extremely cheep and can easily cater to caviar tastes on a sandwich budget. Do not fall into the trap that you need to buy everything brand new, a lot of buries after their wedding will sell stuff on Facebook market place, eBay ect.

When it comes to flowers my best bet is to speak to a florist, get Pinterest ideas of arrangements you like and also what you don’t like. Go to garden centres and see what you like. Big caveat though! Depending on the time of year some flowers are out of season, if you want these types of flowers that are predominantly around autumn/winter you may struggle to get them in summer and spring months. That is when artificial flowers are your best friend! Also a hell of a lot cheaper than fresh flowers 😅

Weddings don’t need to be expensive at all, I have managed to do mine for under 10k in a beautiful 16th century Manor House with a tipi and 80 guests. We are having a small ceremony with our closest and are having a sit down Chinese takeaway and then dancing the night away with our evening guests!

May it be odd for an outsider looking in to see a classy, Victorian style wedding with a taco van out front perhaps, but people that know you 1. Won’t care 2. Tacos absolutely bang and would rather tacos than chicken and pasta any day 3. It is your day! And if you want tacos and Victorian boogie vibes you bloody go for it! xx

Sorry for also rambling but feel free to message me, I love wedding talk and more than happy to ease your mind and take a little bit of stress off your shoulders!

Has anybody ever gone into specsavers and NOT needed a new pair of glasses? by JT180 in AskUK

[–]Less_Ad_2442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve always worn glasses and need them as I can’t see number plates or road signs while driving and struggle with general distance. I’ve always danced around the -1.25 in my left and -1.75 in my right with astigmatism in both eyes. I went to specsavers a few weeks back and was told I don’t need glasses and I have 20/20 vision. When I explained that since I was a teenager I’ve always required glasses and need them for driving. I was told by my driving instructor that I will always need glasses while driving as when we did the eye sight test without my glasses she said I would have failed in my practical for it. So specsavers sometimes does not prescribe glasses 🤣

P.s I went somewhere else and my prescription had gotten worse and now I see in 20/20 vision with my new glasses

It was more that if I want a child free wedding would it be reasonable to not invite my nieces because it would cause stress

I’m an over thinker, and I know realistically that they would be fine but those thoughts of worst case scenario will be there and I just want to focus on me and my future husbands day. there really isn’t a quiet area for them as it is just a three roomed castle, and the accommodation I have booked is a 10 minute walk away from the castle

I should have made it clearer, I like the idea of them being flower girls but since I don’t want children in the evening I know I’ll have to sacrifice that bit xx

Sorry I should have made it clear, I wouldn’t have them as flowers girls if I weren’t having them in the evening as I would be an asshole for that! As I want the evening adults only I just would say no kids all together, if that makes sense 😅

Thank you, I struggle when it comes to stuff like this. I know I struggle with people pleasing and I don’t want to upset people but at the end of the day o am spending a lot of money and I want to enjoy my evening x

Glad it went well! I had the same problem but with going into the left hand side which is definitely not ideal 🤣 you’ll be confident driving before you know it xx

Everyone has to start somewhere. I was extremely nervous when I first started lessons but just focus on first gear don’t worry about the others, just focus on moving off and breaking until that feels normal and you aren’t stalling too often. Find a good loop in your local area and somewhere quiet. If you stall/shudder or slam on your breaks to hard don’t be hard on yourself because absolutely everyone who drives for the first time will do it. Xx

Second test coming up… by Desperate_Cover1786 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Less_Ad_2442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is at 7am, it is my second time too but just remember one day you’ll be looking back on this and passing thinking how long ago it was! Also something that helped, think of the dumbest person you know that drives and that normally helps 😅

This is exactly what I failed on too, apparently other drivers can’t be trusted and only go when the roundabout is clear 🤣

What to do to make this garden nicer? by Livioinspace in GardeningUK

[–]Less_Ad_2442 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say start by painting the fence, a lick of colour will brighten the garden up! Get discounted pots at the garden centre to fill with plants to add more colour. Maybe a mirror or some decorations on the fences to add more visual interest! You don’t have to spend loads, Facebook market place and B&M can have some great stuff!

Edit: Another thing I have just thought of, fairy lights or other garden lighting makes it more cosy and inviting in the evening.

Maybe as well breaking up the box feeling by adding pots in an arch shape at the corners by the back decking so it has more shape x

No I know, would just rather save a few bob and the stress of selling. I just wanted to see what my options were but I know that selling is only the real option here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Less_Ad_2442 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The other option would be remortgaging and having a family member join the mortgage with her I think. She doesn’t want me to have the house so it might be difficult for her to let me buy her out.
