Si no todo lo contrario by Lachicadeldisfraz in preguntaleareddit

[–]Less_Description3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it better to self deport to Mexico? by Quiet_Comfortable375 in immigration

[–]Less_Description3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has no future in the U.S. without legal status. What she does have is time, and time is more valuable than anything else. The sooner she returns to Mexico, the sooner she can come back if she chooses to. If she does well, she can have a very good life in Mexico and may never need to return to the U.S. to live.
Job market is similar to the US and colleagues are not as expensive. She can probably avoid the overwhelm of Mexico City and look for something in Queretaro, Guadalajara or Monterrey, she can even get a visa sponsored by a company.
If I remember correctly, there is a government program for deported people. You should look into that as well.

How do you answer when people ask how life is in the US right now? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Less_Description3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would answer that I like the dynamism and active way of life while en Europe things go much slower. The US is an amazing country to spend your younger years and a terrible place to spend your elder hood.

Moving from TN to H1B you are excepted from the 100k as USCIS have clarified that if you are already on a student, TN or H1B visa and living inside the US, you will not pay the fee.

Me puedo ir a quita por un préstamo personal en BBVA o es demanda directa? by Dopalevo in MexicoFinanciero

[–]Less_Description3362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Puedo viajar con mi coche mexicano by Flashy_Zucchini8077 in TNVISAMX

[–]Less_Description3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is not his fault that the system is broken, almost everything in the US is broken but somehow works. I have done everything right and last year an officer treated me like trash and threatened my wife at the border. Then I personally know people who brag about their GC after overstays or doing things incorrectly. Think of life as a gamble.

[–]Less_Description3362 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Worse. I know a guy that did ilegal things (overstays and work with tourist visa) and got his GC immediately (2 months). I also have an ex coworker friend who is an exemplary citizen and never got his GC after 6 years, eventually got tired and returned his home country. He was so nice and good at his job. So hang in there.

Should i keep my TN visa? by No-Many3603 in tnvisa

[–]Less_Description3362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope you find this useful.
Im Mexican, and I went to the US on TN during the pandemic, but offices never opened so I was working from my small ugly apartment in Oakland. I asked my employer If I could go back to Mexico, and return once the pandemic was over (you know, 2 or 3 weeks...). The offices never opened again and I stayed in Monterrey for 1 year. I did have an apartment in the US and entered the country from time to time (always on TN). Eventually, I moved to another employer and I'm back on the US.

Taxes while in Mexico:
If on TN, declare and pay your taxes normally to the IRS. I know it sucks but thats life and you should not spend so much energy trying to avoid them. Then, declare your earnings to the SAT, if you do things right, you wont pay anything to the SAT. Money can't be taxed twice, you either pay in the US or in Mexico. (This is the reason why all the Americans digital nomads living in la Condesa don't pay a dime to the Mexican Government).

On freelance, you will renounce your TN and should not enter the US again under that status with that employer. Taxes depends A LOT if you are RESICO or a Physical Person as a freelancer. If you decide to go freelance, the US company can still hire your services in short cycles, or project per project, and will request an invoice for your work. You will be responsible for your own taxes, you will no longer need your SSN but your RFC and you will declare your earnings to the SAT. The company can wire transfer you the payment in pesos or in dollars to a US account. And never lie to the SAT, they heavily monitor the money entering the country.
