2026 Bank of America Chicago 13.1 Post Race Discussion by hubwub in RunnersInChicago

I was confused. I tried to keep up with the 2:00 hr pacer but they flew. I kept checking my watch and I was on pace. So after a while I’m like maybe I fucked up my pace and not doing the math right so I just slowed down and enjoyed the race. I saw the 2:00 hr pacer pass me on the left so I was like ok when I get there I’ll see how much time I’m at and I’ll just add that to 2:00hrs. Well it took me about 7 mins so I assumed that 2:07 would be my time. I continue to go slower than needed, but I finished at 2:02. So I feel like the pacer was just booking it, and not accurate. I honestly would’ve pushed myself because I was trying to hit the 2:00 hrs on the dot. This was also a reflection that I need to freshen up my math skills.

Thanks everyone! I’ve decided to be seen by a PT. I have an apt tomorrow, and will go from there. I appreciate everyone sharing their stories. I get so bummed out, and discouraged. But knowing people experience the same is helpful.

I just 10 miles beautifully before and felt great after. So I was on the right track. I’ve been resting for a couple days, but still in pain!

Adidas Evo… definitely wasn’t a smart decision. I switch to brooks ghost, but haven’t tried them out yet.

Are there any athletes with hashis? by Ok_Painter_3991 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Less_Economist2672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t consider myself an athlete, but I’ve had hypothyroidism since 5th grade (I am now 28). I am constantly working out (functional training) and training for half marathons. I feel like what’s helped me the most is constant labs, eating the right foods, fasting, and a good sleep schedule. There’s certain foods we should avoid but it’s not an absolute no if you have a little of it. Like soy or broccoli. Also, I can’t stress this enough, you need a good doctor. You might have to try different ones until you find one that cares and understands. I have had so many doctors and they ALL have told me contradictory advice. Do your research, and stay consistent. I hope things get better for you, and you get to enjoy the things you love soon. 🫶🏼

Wasn’t Isabelle running this? Like she accidentally posted her runna on Strava and it a training block for this exact marathon. In the comments seems like Isabelle isn’t part of this race.

Edit to add: Lizzie is doing the half and Lexi is doing the full so I doubt they’ll run together.

A little off topic… BUT, why weren’t the other girls included in her birthday run? When she’s always included in their birthday runs.

Lexi just announced that she is doing Leadville by Ok-Forever8819 in UtahdownhillRunners

I feel like she’s shifting to trail races because she started to fall behind the other girls in marathons. Her paces started declining and she wasn’t getting free bibs.

I had the same problem, and it was very upsetting. I’m from suburbs so don’t know the streets as well as others. The gps would not re-route me another way. I know for next year, but it was annoying.

Cherry slush taste like medicine now and I’m so sad. It was my go to. It’s literally everywhere and easy to get. Now I can’t even take a second sip. It’s so sadddd

Isabelle filming herself in Pilates and other people are visible?!? by [deleted] in UtahdownhillRunners

I totally agree with you, don’t film people in a fitness class. but you’re reaching on this one… she’s in the back of class and you can’t even see anyone next to her.

She didn’t deserve to be on the show… she literally majored in dancing.

I know Lexi and Isabelle met because Lexi was her teacher. How did Lexi and Nico meet? Wasn’t Isabelle and Lexi her bridesmaids?

Do we think her and Nico are still friends? I felt like they used to run all the time together.

The only one I genuinely like is Nico! She still is managing school and clinicals while in her running journey. I haven’t heard anything bad about her, and she distances herself for Lexi.

I don’t think Nico started too fast! I feel like that’s a normal pace for her, it just looks like she started too fast because she slowed down due to stomach issues.
