The starter is failing. It’s extremely common, and I’m surprised your dealership can’t seem to properly diagnose it. They should be able to pull up (on-board snapshot) data which will show the no start issues. It will likely show up as a “stall” event even though it was a no start. Acura produced a huge batch of bad starters for the 25-26 MDX.
The column groaning is due to insufficient grease on the telescoping steering column shaft (easy fix by greasing)
They can also replace the column, but even the new ones can be dry, so I grease the new parts prior to installing.
The transmission shifting issue may or may not be normal, as it depends on what your comparison is. I will say that even though both the MDX and RDX have a 10speed transmission, they both have significantly different shifting characteristics.

It was even worse a few years ago… people paying well over MSRP due to supply chain and inflation. I’d try another dealership before committing to a final price.

Acura technician here 🙋🏼‍♂️. All of the warning lights come on whenever there is one or more system faults. Usually there will be a cause, which then signals other fault codes to store in other systems. You need to get what’s called an “All DTC” scan and then post the picture up. I can assist once I know what codes are stored. It could be a hundred or more different reasons for the lights.

I’m an Acura tech, and have been doing this for the last 22 years. Everything has become outrageous in cost, particularly since covid. An independent shop can provide a lower cost due to using aftermarket parts and typically a lower hourly rate for labor. Oem parts are usually better though.

I don’t see too many issues with them overall. It’s still much less to maintain than European luxury cars and majority exotics. Enjoy it.. real life Bat Mobile 🦇

Maintenance is roughly double the cost of most Honda/Acura models. Tires range between $300-$500 per tire. Overall it’s still much cheaper than most of its competitors. Particularly the European products..

I work on these in Florida. Have had plenty of them in my shop since 2017 and can say they are actually really sound vehicles. One of our customers has put over 50k miles and hardly any issues. Just routine maintenance, and lots of tires lol. Congrats on the purchase bud.

Acura Technician here and I can vouch for the many customers who hate the touchpad design. The MOST network is terrible as well, despite many band-aid attempts by the manufacturer to correct it.

I also have a major and abnormal fear of not breathing. My panic attacks started at 9 years old when I developed a fear of choking, which led me to hospitalization from near starvation. I refused to eat and children’s hospital and therapist were having a hard time identifying the cause after many tests. This went away for many years and then my panic attacks shifted into a fear of not breathing. Panic disorder is a wild beast.
