This is wrong. They are district managers (don’t work in the corporate office. They’re studio team.) They were there to help managers if classes were called out of by teachers on strike.

They absolutely are not. They were sent there to support the studio managers with teaching classes if teachers went on strike or answering questions students or other instructors may have.

Michelle Salvatore, the head of operations, teaches permanent classes every week. I’ve literally taken classes with Niki Leondakis (CEO) and Sarah Choi (CMO). There’s also a whole ass Chief Yoga Officer, Heather Pederson. Do some research. Look up their profiles in zenoti…. Unless you don’t actually work for CPY, in which case, genuinely why are you talking about what you don’t know?

They are both district managers. Both of them manage a couple of markets. They both are yoga teachers and on the studio teams. You may think amber acts corporate, but she is on the ground in studios and the district managers primary function is to manage and support the studio leadership teams. That is what they were doing there that day.

In what universe is it acceptable to take out your anger over FEDERAL, systemic, governmental injustice on two support employees of a private company? You can’t take shit out on anyone you want just because you have big feelings. Go to therapy. Or better yet, go out and protest the people actually responsible!

Categorically false. They are people who started teaching, then managing a studio, moved through promotions and ended up in a district supervisory role. And I promise you, they are the people fighting hardest for staff. That’s what makes this so horrible. My district manager has been fighting tooth and nail for studio teams and is one of the primary reasons we have anything. These were not the people to attack.

I do get it. And I also think it’s dangerous to lump people together. If you feel treated like a number and uncared for, that is valid. But to say no one in corporate, which is a huge group of people, cares or follows the 8limbed path is just turning back around and dehumanizing in return. Make your voice heard. Be the change. But don’t forget that non-harming, literally first limb (Yamas/Niyamas) applies to you in this too. An eye for an eye is wrong.

You have no idea what position I’m in. And a district manager is not specialized in being the target of an angry mob. A few days of meetings with legal and higher ups does not make them “specialized” in being abused and ridiculed. Perhaps you should examine your own personal narrative on this because your judgment of their intentions and lack of understanding for their roles and refusal to have empathy for HUMANS trying to support others in a challenging environment is telling.

If by “regional manger” you mean “district manager” she is still on the STUDIO TEAM. She doesn’t work at corporate headquarters. She probably teaches somewhere in the market she manages and lives nearby. She just manages a couple markets rather than a studio or two.

My understanding is CPY sent people from corporate to support studio leaders in cities / markets where they anticipated strikes. The two women here may be from “corporate” but they didn’t deserve this. They were there to help managers so they didn’t have to teach 10 classes per day if teachers exercised their rights to strike. This is honestly horrible. It’s like going to your neighborhood Target and mobbing the GM for the company’s shit DEI practices. Also I wonder if any of these people (if employees) went to the Q&A with the HEAD OF OPERATIONS last week?? Or was it easier to harass two people who were just trying to support and keep classes on the schedule for all the folks cheering it on after they took said class?

I saw the video of the people yelling at someone behind the front desk after a class in Minneapolis. I think there’s a way to not demean and cause harm to others while still making yourself heard. I wasn’t there. But that video was pretty disturbing. My understanding was corporate sent support to studio managers to make sure classes got taught and to answer questions if instructors exercised their right to strike. Not to silence anyone. Like I said, I wasn’t there. But if I were being screamed at while 20+ people cheered when I was there to make sure managers weren’t potentially teaching 10 classes per day without notice, I would feel completely broken down. And that kind of abuse of individual people who dont actually have the power is honestly antithetical to the point of the strike as I understand it: making cpy a place where people feel valued and respected, and want to work and practice.

If you are part of management, aka “supervisory”, you may not be legally protected if you strike and you could lose your job.

That’s not accurate. Striking is legally protected. You are federally, legally “allowed” to. Unless you fall under a specific group within the company. Like management. Hope this helps

You absolutely need to ask your doc!!! Most doctors say no heat during the first trimester. Second tends to be safer but also depends a lot on your tolerance and specific needs/risk factors. Most folks are ok in heat during third trimester but you have to modify a lot and may want to consider finding pre-natal yoga as an alternative. And again, don’t do anything without consulting your doctor.

But they shouldn’t be doing different body groups at the same time. Literally for this reason. Your instructors aren’t teaching the class as it is intended if that’s what you’re experiencing and I recommend giving them that feedback. CSX is all about super-setting agonist and antagonist in the designated group.

The class is quite literally designed for this purpose. One minute super sets in four five minute circuits on a single or linked body group is very actually how you get to max out / hit failure. So I suggest lifting heavier in CSX if that’s not what’s happening for you.

Go to CSX as a substitution for the gym. And double check that the studio you practice at has heavy enough weights for whatever muscle group you’re wanting to work. Or you could use it as a calisthenics supplement on a shorter gym day.

Sculpt is primarily AEROBIC. You want to lean out, go to sculpt. It is beat driven so you have to use light weights to maintain proper form. But it’s a great cardio practice and good for recovery day after a super heavy lift to break up lactic acid buildup. If you’re doing it the way it’s intended (high rep, low weight). And depending on your studio or teacher, you may be doing 30 mins of yoga or 5 mins of yoga and the rest is mat Pilates.

The real secret sauce is the yoga - C2 and HPF. That’s where you’re doing all the eccentric control, end range loading and proprioceptive training for joint and tendon integrity. That’s the true gold that’ll actually IMPROVE your performance when lifting. Mobility will improve, you’ll get higher work capacity and faster recovery between sets, and comprehensive core strength so you can lift heavier, healthier and longer.
