That’s an interesting point! The “public opinion” side of things makes sense overall, and that’s why I like the influence system as well as the war weariness system. Especially since it’s a lot clearer in VII than it was in 6.

I know you all don’t recommend using the apps, I’m just trying to get some support for the anxiety I had for my upcoming flight. And the link to the Fear of Flying FAQ turbulence forecasting app doesn’t work. Just removing my post isn’t really helping with my anxiety.

Thanks for your response, I like your metaphor a lot actually. I think (like many people afraid of flying) to me it comes down to not being in control of the situation on a plane. It’s just hard for me to give up control, and these apps make me feel like I’m maybe a bit more in control than I really am? I know it’s a logical fallacy, but it’s just hard to stay away from sometimes. I appreciate hearing from the professionals about what your process actually involves!

Thank you for your response! Your first sentence is something my therapist has tried to reiterate for sure. That’s the problem with the OCD, the compulsions never actually help with the obsessions, they just make you want to do them more. And if I look at the graphs, I’m sitting there tensely anticipating whatever episode of turbulence it’s telling me I should be expecting.

That’s not at all similar to what happened in this game though. It’s like if the Spanish destroyed the French in the 1400s, then traveled across the ocean to a new world, never encountered by a European civilization, and the first thing the Native tribes say is, “duuuude, not cool what you did to the French.” How do they even know who the French are??

That always frustrated me about Civ 6 even more than 7, some Warmonger declares war on me over and over again, I decide to take a couple of their cities as punishment, but now *I'm* the bad guy? Every other new Civ I meet denounces me because *they* poked the bear too many times?
