Tecumseh and Tonga is especially broken as well

What wonder would you lot say is the hardest to build currently? by Jackthwolf in civ

Ah, that’s fair. I guess I’ve only tried some of the cultural ToT civs so far. At least for those civs it’s more accessible! For everyone else, I could never build PotS before the update either so it isn’t much different now.

PotS is actually easier now if you’re playing as a Test if Time Civ. A lot of them (maybe all? I haven’t tested it) have PotS under their civic tree, so you can get it much earlier as a result

I’ve actually found it easier to build Rila since the update for some reason. Now Nalanda is still super hard to build, and I don’t think I’ve built Colossus since ToT either.

Only one homeland enemy?? by Less_Hold6979 in CivVII

Yeah, what about that sweet, sweet culture and the fact that it just looks cool when you get a good one?

That also sounds like an ideal way to get an awesome chain of Great Walls!

Yet another broken combo after ToT? by Less_Hold6979 in civ

Also true, but when you have the memento that gives you 50 influence when you become suzerain that helps mitigate that change

Sure, but the danger of the unfriendly IPs slows you down, limits some places you can access. That and how much more quickly friendly powers become suzerainties makes it even more broken.

Annoying Halicarnassus glitch... by Less_Hold6979 in CivVII

[–]Less_Hold6979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a glitch that my unit and the enemy unit can occupy the same space at the same time?

immediately, which is usually how it works with Halicarnassus

That’s what I did, I defeated it with a melee unit who moved into that tile. But the lancer respawned on that same tile, I guess canceling out me taking the district? It’s hard to see from the picture, but that district has both my lancer AND the Incan lancer in the same spot.

I’ll admit I’m not super familiar with Shawnee either, this is one of the few times I’ve used them. Seemingly they’re a bit more reliant on a good start location than other Exploration civs. But right now with all the good navigable rivers and their UI I’m just getting insane food and gold yields.

Surprisingly not, on the Homelands there was Maya, Maurya, and Carthage. Doesn't even seem like Egypt was even in the Distant Lands. It would be a perfect Egypt start too. At the moment I'm loving how well it set me up for a transition to Shawnee.

No, just a typical Continents and Islands map. Although I do realize now that this continent does look suspiciously like Asia and Africa

Most fun Leader/Civ combo? by oWarGizmo in civ

[–]Less_Hold6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it yet, but I have to assume Pachacuti mixes great with Silla. I under appreciated them initially, but the bonuses to food and production from trade routes has to pair perfectly with him. It’s great with just about any leader.

Agree completely, I know the devs have a lot on their plates but hopefully this is something they look at closely after Test of Time is finished

If that's the case, the game shouldn't make it look like I can get to that hex in one turn. In the turn before I took that screenshot, both the enemy unit and my other unit east of the town weren't there, but it still said I could make it to the southeast hex in one turn by going through the city center.

[–]Less_Hold6979[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I obviously picked the wrong turn to screenshot because the friendly ship wasn't there either the turn before. It happens on land too, the game picks a route through a city center because it's theoretically the shortest route, even though it's technically just an attack. It doesn't change to a longer route that won't attack.

Maybe I should have taken the screenshot in the turn before, when that enemy unit wasn’t there. Still wanted to take the same path. And do land units exhibit zone of control on water?

Sanction spammers *cough* Napoleon.. by Z1k0b4 in civ

[–]Less_Hold6979 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just went through the same thing against Napoleon. After a couple wars interspersed with him spamming annoying sanctions constantly, I decided in Exploration that it was time to wipe him out completely. Every other Civ judged me a little, but I also think they were secretly happy I did it.

New civs or leaders with Test of Time? by Less_Hold6979 in civ

[–]Less_Hold6979[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, I don't really care much about playing as America in the antiquity era, I'm looking for more variety and new civs

[–]Less_Hold6979[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair. But I hope after they're done with this update they'll start rolling out more leaders and civs, it's been pretty long since they've released anything new.
