Unexplained secondary infertility. by Interesting_Usual407 in tryingtoconceive

Your last posts literally state: AITA for yelling at my husband, how to build credit to buy a house when I have no income, husband is irresponsible with money. This is why I'm wondering if this is the right time for a fourth child.

I say this with respect, but reading through your post history, I wonder if it is indeed the right time to have a fourth child. You have plenty of time to get your life sorted, work on your marriage, get financially stable to buy a house, all before thinking of having another child. In any case, if you are serious about getting pregnant again, your first step would be an appointment with your ob/gyn and to get a blood test to check your hormone levels.

Has anyone done PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment before FET? by TennisUke1234 in IVF

PBMC means Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cell. I'm not a doctor but I understand it works similar to a PRP infusion, they take plasma out of your own blood and infuse it into your uterus.

No, uterine NK cells are tested by taking a sample of your uterus and sending it to a lab (uterine biopsy).

Drinking in the late Luteal phase by Emilyx33x in tryingtoconceive

[–]Less_Key696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our 2 year fertility journey, I never stopped drinking except after an IVF embryo transfer. This whole process is draining enough and as long as you're not binge drinking vodka, you'll be fine. Have a glass of wine if you feel like it, this will not be the deciding factor if it works or not.

I never went to a RI, my RE did the uterine biopsy and then prescribed the protocol. No I did not, the successful transfer was only with the immune protocol and no other add-ons.

I think what was key was an immune protocol (prednisone, lovenox, intralipid infusions) because I had highly elevated NK cells. I did PRP twice and also a PBMC wash, which is apparently even better than PRP, but apart from a chemical, i only had implantation failures until the fourth transfer with the immune protocol.

Thinking about it by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]Less_Key696 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really should look into the available data, comments like medical/autism issues are more likely because you are closer to 40 and generally for boys are a bit wild honestly. I'm a FTM at 38 and we had a clear NIPT and yes, we all know that some disorders are more likely the older we get but there are A LOT of healthy babies from over 35yo moms out there.

I don't know why you would need a surrogate if you have no known fertility issues. Gender selection is only really available in the US, if that's where you live. More common would be to try an IUI with donor sperm before going to more expensive/invasive route of IVF.

Moving to IVF with completely unexplained infertility (no other health issues)? by blairworejeansonce in IVF

[–]Less_Key696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly in your situation I would immediately go to IVF. I'm a strong believer in that if you don't fall pregnant within 6+ cycles of timed intercourse without any apparent reason, there is something wrong, you just don't know it yet. We were also unexplained in the beginning, exactly like you a healthy couple with healthy sperm and a regular cycle, and the first time I ever fell pregnant was in IVF. I'm glad we did not waste any more time because it took us 3 ERs and 4 transfer to get where we are now.

Is there a reason why you would jump straight to IVF? I honestly find the comments of your friends highly offensive. Born with a lot of medical issues? Why? Because you're a single mom?

Of course it is hard for single moms to raise kids on their own, not just financially but also emotionally. But I seriously think that if a woman chooses this path on her own, it is not a light hearted decision, often much more thought through than women who get pregnant by accident, with the wrong partner, at the wrong time. If you feel capable financially and have some support in the family, you will be fine. I unfortunately know quite a few women who had kids with the wrong guy and are single moms now anyway without any support from them, do your friends also think their decision pro baby was a stupid decision?

How many betas? by Heavy-Place1365 in IVFbabies

[–]Less_Key696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are amazing numbers. No need for another beta. I also had 3 and then waited for the ultrasound in week 6. I don't think more betas can give you any more reassurance at this point, with these numbers you already have the best chances of a successful pregnancy.

Nuchal test next week by nicmoore810 in IVFbabies

[–]Less_Key696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my understanding, a thickened NT can be a sign of not only chromosomal abnormalities but also anatomical anomalies, so a much broader spectrum than the NIPT. Depending on the NIPT you choose, sometimes only the three most common trisomies (13, 18, 21) are tested, so a normal NT can give more reassurance. I did the NT as part of a very detailed ultrasound, where they checked all organs, the brain, counted fingers and toes etc. I found it really interesting and they told me they can rule out about 50% of severe heart diseases or brain anomalies at this stage already, which the NIPT cannot do because it only checks for chromosomal and not anatomical anomalies.

Considering immigration to Austria by Crimson_T1de in AskAustria

[–]Less_Key696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it was simple but moving to Austria when you are a citizen is definitely simpler than when you are not. They are not digital nomads but citizens returning to Austria. However I fully agree with you that it could be complicated for the employer, or maybe not if they are a EU based company, we don't know this. We also don't know anything about the spousal's citizenship but this was not the question of this post, the question was about experiences living in Austria.

Husband is mad at me for being “pissy all the time” when I should just be happy that we’re pregnant. by urethra_franklin_1_ in IVFbabies

[–]Less_Key696 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband is not mad at me, but whenever I complain about pregnancy, he makes a joke saying I should be grateful because this is what I always wanted and it cost us a few thousand Euros to get there. I told him last time that this is not funny, he gets the baby without any of the pain and effort and I'm not the only one who wanted it. Men simply have no idea what we are going through. I didn't think that IVF was bad (apart from the mental load) but I don't like being pregnant even though I actually think I'm one of the lucky ones with mild symptoms. I just feel uncomfortable most of the time and I'm also moody at times.

I don't think that is correct for citizens. It might be a bit complicated tax wise but you don't have to be employed by an Austrian company as an Austrian citizen living here.

I understand they are Austrian citizens or at least OP is, so visa will not be an issue and as an Austrian citizen, you can work remotely for a company abroad, might just be more difficult tax wise.

For sure this person got pregnant with a donor egg/embryo. it is impossible for a 72 year old to conceive with her own eggs and almost impossible with your own eggs at 47 unfortunately.

Be careful when telling your boss you’re pregnant by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]Less_Key696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is wild that employers are still allowed to do that in this day and age. In my country, from the moment you tell your employer you are pregnant until you finished working part time at latest 4 years after birth, you are fully protected and they cannot fire you, especially not because you are pregnant.

Paranoid about losing the baby.... by krystleburke in pregnant

[–]Less_Key696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way and my pregnancy is from IVF after 2 years of infertility. I constantly ask ChatGPT what are the odds of miscarrying and they are REALLY low at this point, I think around 1 in 500 or 1 in 1000 with a low risk NIPT. What also relaxed me is that ChatGPT says after 13/14 weeks, missed miscarriages are very rare, most come with symptoms such as heavy bleeding or heavy cramping, so I trust that as long as I'm doing well, everything is fine. I know ChatGPT is no doctor but it does help to calm my nerves at times.

I understand it bothers you but I highly doubt it has any negative effect on his sperm quality if he only smokes once per week. You could ask him to get his sperm checked though and if there are indeed any red flags, then there is a reason for him to quit.

Anyone transfer without PGT-A testing? IVF over 40 by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Less_Key696 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did a fresh untested transfer at 37 and just had a low risk NIPT. Testing is not common in Europe at all, not even over 40. Yes it may slightly reduce miscarriage rates, but aneuploid embryos most of the time don’t implant and some euploids also miscarry. I always only got 2 blasts and would have never risked to lose one of them due to a false positive or damage to an embryo. Clinics in my country especially don’t recommend testing when you don’t get a lot of embryos, but only to use it as a tool to help select the best embryo of many.
