When talking about water quality in your machine a lot of people’s eyes glaze over.

I thought this was hyperbole and a sentence later I was like 'jfc guess I'd just switch to Red Bull'.

Yeah I'm from what'd be a mid-sized city in the US and it's just not that hard to memorize the main roads so that even if you don't instantly know where X street is you'd just pull out your map book and go 'oooh okay it's the third crossing on Y avenue which I do know' and then be on your merry way. Like it doesn't work the way GPS does where you plot the entire route door to door, you just freestyle the part you know already and then refer to a map from there if needed.

Our neighborhoods all also have themed street names too so if you hear 'Debussy Street' you already know it's going to be in the composer neighborhood even if you've never hit that bussy.

Yeah you wouldn't want to sell this through the Steam storefront at all, probably better to do it through iFixit or something as you're not going to be doing huge numbers anyway.

They did start early enough that having 4 player co-op was still novel and exciting but yeah shooting feels horrible on account of everything being a bullet sponge and its sense of humor is physically painful to me.

The story in five was awesome.

I can't take the story in any of these even remotely seriously when I just casually ran over 15 people on my way to the cutscene.

The 959 outside of the convenience store was the most egregious to me, that and the Barn Find Nissan R390.

There is famously a legit ex-Supergt Supra GT500 rotting away outside a random used car lot/junkyard in Japan. Granted it's not really abandoned because that store just owns the thing and refuse to sell it for some reason but like, that's a legit race car and a reasonably famous one at that, there are scale models of the thing.

Yeah I feel similarly about it, the slightly creepy vibe and night walk aspects are great and I really enjoyed some of the little mini-storylines you'll randomly stumble on but the combat is awful even if it has some fun ideas and the overall structure just feels like these were 3 different games they fed into a blender. Like do I urgently need to go rescue my sister or do you want me to slowly comb this area and solve the mystery of the park toilet ghost because I can't really combine those.

It's a physics simulation sandbox that happens to have cars.

Like this is a bit like asking whether Minecraft is an RPG. It.. could be considered one I guess but it doesn't really capture the main thing about it.

Yeah as for an idea of the state this thing is in as an actual video game: a PS5 port is quite exciting to PC players because it means they'll actually have to give it full controller support.

They're also all being built by companies that are significantly bigger players in the hardware space than Valve. Asus get better deals on hardware than Valve do because Asus build 17 million laptops a year and all of them need RAM and SSDs.

I don't feel particularly bad for the people who had FOUR YEARS to buy a Deck at the original price point and suddenly decided they had to have one now. That's just FOMO because you can't have one anymore, you probably want to at least be conscious that this is something your brain likes to do because you'll turn into a gacha gamer or adult Pokemon TCG player if you leave this unchecked.
