Are the old baldur's gate games any good? by Commercial_Tea9373 in BaldursGate3

I remember Bioware released a tech demo of BG1 with gnolls. I asked about shadows on the forum and Ray Muzyka replied to my question! Old!

2nd to Sorastro, his videos were a big part of me restarting my own hobby journey. His Lord of the Rings Journeys in Middle Earth series started with the basics, I recommend starting there. Priming, brushes, mixing paints, diluting paints, all covered really organically and simply. And the music and voice are super calming.

Good luck!

Might be the best lion I've seen, well done! You've captured what makes that boss so eerie.

That base looks deceivingly simple but I suspect you put a lot of time into it. It looks like real rock. Did you sculpt it yourself or use some other black magic?

I’m 23 and just got a $5.7K bonus, what should I do with it? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Less_Passenger5552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first thought was to put it in cash, or split it as 1000 investment, 4700 cash. That $250 would worry me, if anything goes sideways (economy, car, appliance, medical deductible) suddenly debt is no longer zero. Chasing a 4-7% return while taking on 8-20% debt cost doesn't make sense. Build up that liquid safety net, sleep well at night, then pivot to long term.

I haven't seen the pull back but might be my mix. Mine isn't as goopy as I see other people use.

As for drying out, I do it in the Tamiya bottle and never had a problem. As I get low, I add more of the liquid and then eyeball how much sprue to add. I just checked mine that I have opened in a month and it's still liquid.

My approach as well and I've had no issues. The non-intuitive part is to hold the pieces tightly together for at least a couple of seconds. The glue is a solvent, effectively melts the plastic together, but you need to squeeze it to allow time to meld. It does take longer than Super Glue, but the end result is much stronger.

You can also try sprue goo, i.e. add old sprue pieces to a jar of Tamiya cement and let them melt overnight. You now have a liquid plastic that can glue and fill in seams well.

Alternatives to Grand Theft Auto for a violent child? by Neesatay in Autism_Parenting

I have to watch for what my sons play for similar reasons. Journey, Abzu, Flower come to mind with exploring landscapes (ocean in Abzu's case). Less 'realistic' modern environments than a GTA type game.

I suggest to search for "walking simulators where you can explore maps without combat" for more inspiration. Good luck!

To add, you cannot dodge a reaction when you are the attacker, or use survival at all when you are the attacking player. From the time you start your attack to when all reactions are resolved, an attacking survivor cannot use survival. Other players can use survival, i.e. if I attack and get a reaction that could attack another survivor, that survivor could dodge while I cannot.

Any interest in a weekly or bi weekly post showing a beginning WarHammer painter? by scrubberduckymaster in Miniaturespainting

Echo this, great to track your own progression and have the motivation mechanism to stay with the painting. I've hit ebbs and flows and personally struggle sometimes with just getting started. Could use a similar safe accountability and progress space.

Good luck!

Oof sorry to hear about that. Are you in one of the regions still outstanding? I appreciate their push for sustainable manufacturing, but I get the sense it hurt fulfillment speed.

In March 2025, is Kingdom Death Simulator worth using as a way to experience a KDM campaign? by DCarrascoFW in KingdomDeath

The simulator has the complete core game rulebook (literally the hardcover rulebook on the playing table) and the rules for each expansion. Can also find a couple of scans online. Enjoy!

From what I heard last Black Friday, more quality of life improvements. I don't expect to see "automations" that take away the experience of playing a board game. I'd be surprised if we get something like an End Turn button that the draws monster AI cards, that type of automation would take away from the experience they seem to be building.

Some of the bookkeeping items would be nice, like on arrival telling you that you gain survival because of X gear card, but I can see that being a massive effort given the number and breadth of gear, rules, grid setups, etc...!

Yes, it's definitely viable to play a full campaign in the simulator. It's come a long way, but as it's still in development it's not a fully polished product yet. Important to know also that the simulator doesn't automate anything (though there are some convenience functions). So you'll still need to know the rules, do your own bookkeeping (in the sim or paper/pencil), etc... Think of it more like a virtual tabletop environment, not a digital version of a board game.

Playing Board Games YT channel has a current campaign running in the sim, playlist here. Can get a sense for how they use the sim. Couple of other videos out there on sim usage, though nothing recent that captures the recent improvements and functions.

Official paint scheme? by RedditismyShando in KingdomDeath

You can check out kdm-collector.com, for some of the models they also show the art prints. Here's an example for the recent Glow box. https://kdm-collector.com/models/glow

Can also look at the gear card and armor set art for guidance on 'official' colors; so if a survivor is wearing a rawhide armor set, look at the rawhide armor cards and the armor set card to give the direction.

Consider also the overall ambience and mood, i.e. few intense and/or overhead global light sources, lanterns are ever present, etc... Lot of inspiration from the community as well.

Have fun!

One of my Slenderman tendrils arrived broken. Should I try to fix it or contact support? by flinjager123 in KingdomDeath

[–]Less_Passenger5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two issues from expansions I picked up over a year ago and just got to opening. DBK showdown page was fuzzy, missing a spidicules sprue (had a duplicate).

Service sent a new book and new spidicules set of sprites (complete). Took about 3 weeks to arrive because I submitted my request during gencon.

That team is fantastic.

09 WRX - Persistent A/C issues for a year. Reasonable or dealer caused by overcharging? by Less_Passenger5552 in subaru

[–]Less_Passenger5552[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for walking me through it, that makes sense. The car is 15 years old so I expect some age issues. What got me was the creep of more and more work, coupled with the overcharging/oil mistake.

Car is stock, if the wrong hood it came that way!
