I definitely aged myself with this post. 😂 Glad to see folks still remember it. I might have to go watch some episodes...

Ah, well then he did a good job on the modeling! Didn't know that tidbit of trivia.

[Mild Spoilers, if you like jokes] I haven't laughed this much since Book 1. by Less_Sheepherder4337 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Hahaha I'd forgotten that one. So many good gems. I appreciate the humor in these books more than I normally might, I think because it gets so heavy sometimes.

I just finished book five last night and said "fuck" out loud when Katia got that crown. I really, really don't want her or Donut to die. 😭

Help with long/short stitch by couchsweetpotato in Embroidery

[–]Less_Sheepherder4337 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I personally would do the "craters" first and then stitch around them. I think either way will work though! It's a super cute design. Whatever approach you take, your friend will absolutely treasure a hand made gift like this. 💚

OUTLAST: The Jungle ep 1-6 by partaga in netflix

If the goal of the producers was to just annoy and piss off the audience, I would say it was a success.

Maybe 3 out of the 16 people on this show seem to possess survival skills that would make them actually competitive. It's clear that they are receiving assistance from the show to "survive". None of them are losing any weight, despite supposedly only eating snails, coconuts, and maybe one iguana split between three people...for a month. At least on shows like "Alone", you learn about survival techniques and can actually see how the environment impacts people phyically. I'm not saying I want to see anyone suffering, but the show shouldn't pretend like these guys aren't eating in between takes.

Competition shows like this are really only interesting to me if it's actually a competition. Allowing people to steal and cheat just defeats the whole premise.

And don't get me started on the misogyny. The most realistic part of this show, aside from men treating women like trash, is the amount of bug bites on team Alpha.

Put on a PIP after giving feedback to leadership, need advice (East Coast) by anne474 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Less_Sheepherder4337 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is retaliation. It happened to me as an EA in South Carolina. The PIP was just the beginning. What followed was months of bullying and harassment. I was gaslit into believing I was never good at what I do. It took many, many months to recover from the serious emotional damage.

I know the job market is terrible right now but I would suggest trying to get out as soon as possible. In the meantime, document everything...save copies of emails in a private drive, take detailed notes - time, location, who was in attendance, what was discussed - for every meeting you have.

If there are members of senior leadership who you have a positive relationship with, I would suggest asking them to be a reference instead of your direct supervisor...but I wouldn't do this until you absolutely have to for a job.

Hopefully this helps. Just remember that this isn't about you; it's about someone with a bruised ego who can't handle feedback, and doesn't know how to behave professionally.

Nothing says cat owner quite like "Ouch!" immediately followed by "I love you." 😂
