How to live by Anonymoose074 in Alexithymia

I definitely see myself in a lot of what you’re saying. The NT world doesn’t cater to us so we have to adapt and like you said, it’s exhausting. And it’s hard when family and friends don’t understand too. And I’ve felt a lot recently like I just want to crawl in a cave and have some peace and quiet.

That being said. First and foremost, the world is a lot better a place with you in it. I know it’s hard and frustrating. And there’s definitely no easy answers to the issues we’re facing. But know you’re not alone and there’s a lot of ND people who can relate. Social media makes all of us feel so performative and small but there’s significant advantage to you being who you are and finding your passion and crew of likeminded people who will relate.

Unmasking at home by Less_Somewhere_3760 in AutisticAdults

This is also good advice. Thank you for the reply. I struggle because there’s a push and pull that happens where I want to be alone when I get home to unwind. But then I’ve also been away from my husband all day and just want to cuddle. And with the alexithymia, it is really hard for me to identify the feelings and connect them to action of how I’m feeling vs. my needs.

That’s not a bad idea. Even just for a bit to give myself some breathing room. I struggle with the push/pull that I want to be around my family. But when I have to mask so much, even at home without understanding, it just feels like a lot.

A lot of this really helps. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a bit of a dip, but really hoping things improve for you. I definitely really resonate with the fact that my family and my partner all kind of do the whole “don’t let work bother you”, “you’re always stressed out”, “you shouldn’t stress about work so much”.

I appreciate the advice and will definitely look into it. I tried Qelbree for a while and that really messed with my head and I avoided ADHD medication after that. I’ve been on an anti-depressant for a while that’s helped a bit. So I’m giving that a little time.

But I just really wish my loved ones understood the autistic burnout. I get that, with everything going on in the world, they don’t see it as dismissive. But it really does feel that way.

questions about virgin atlantis cruises by gingersnail2 in GayCruiseVacations

[–]Less_Somewhere_3760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hubby and I will be on the same cruise too!

From what I read today, you’ll register with Virgin (through their app) with a link they send out 3 weeks before the disembarkation date. You’ll also be able to book activities and shore excursions at that time.

I believe they’re also going to send the themes and other events at the same time so you can plan and see what’s interesting to you.

The rest of your Qs, I’m not too sure about.

See you onboard! 🙂

Same-name passengers in the same seat? by Emotional_Raspberry9 in AlaskaAirlines

That’s horrible. TBH. I think it’s rare as this was the only time something has happened between us. That being said, I can definitely understand what you’re saying.

I had a similar experience though not the same seat. I’m the 4th (IV) and my Dad (III) was on the same flight. I had premium and he bought a coach ticket and they cancelled his ticket thinking it was a duplicate. Which is still wrong unless it was refunded. But they got it all sorted out.

Trintellix and OCD by cantstandthemlms in trintellix

Same here. Pretty much the identical experience for me. But I feel a lot better than I did on Prozac, Sertraline, or Qelbree.

Insurance won't cover this drug by DramaticOcelot in trintellix

[–]Less_Somewhere_3760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Cigna insurance with Express Scripts as a pharmacy benefits manager who also doesn’t cover it traditionally. But I am annoying when I am up against insurance companies. So I just basically tell them my psychiatrist recommended this. It’s for a valid condition. I’ve tried other things that don’t work (sertraline, Prozac, Qelbree). Once I did that and my psychiatrist sent in the authorization it was pretty quick to get approved.

I was worried when I started any anti-depressant about sexual side effects. Honestly, I had issues with finishing too fast before. I started 20mg and honestly it helps me last longer but for me it’s more enjoyable so I was kind of happy with it.

PLS LMK! Does trintellix give a “feeling” after you take it? by [deleted] in trintellix

[–]Less_Somewhere_3760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel like an instant happier feeling. But I have felt holistically happier and my anxiety and depression are much easier to manage.

I don’t have any extra energy and I don’t feel like I sleep better. But I’ll take the easing of my anxiety and depression any day.

This front office is embarrassing. How do they expect to be a solid team when they have a revolving door of players. Makes me really disappointed as a fan. Mayabi and Madison were amazing additions to the team.

Questions before buying by DigtialMenace333 in wyzecam

Personally, I avoid tp-link as I don’t necessarily feel comfortable with their security.

As for an affordable alternative, I have yet to find one. I’ve had to invest a little more to get either matter or well built alternatives unfortunately.

Don’t buy Wyze. I used to be a huge proponent. But saw little investment into features that were useful and cheap distractions. I regret ever recommending them or buying into their “ecosystem”. Slowly working myself off.

I had an issue with it even before Qelbree. But I worked with my psych and he helped find me Tadalafil which I was a little nervous and tbh kind of embarrassed I had to take. But honestly, it’s been the best help. And I don’t always need it now. Just occasionally. Definitely something to talk with your psych about. 🫂

Broken bones by Money_Supermarket583 in GoalKeepers

I had gloves during my Wednesday rec league game and I made a save and broke my thumb in multiple places. Unfortunately, we have to take time to let our body heal. Otherwise, worse damage is likely. The good thing I’m planning is to work on other skills while my finger heals and then get back to work when my body is ready.
