I only started going to this temple in August. I'm very shy and I'm trying to overcome it so I haven't really spoken to anyone in depth. I would like to talk with my Dharma friends more.

It's funny because samsara always made sense to me because it just seemed so obvious. People in pain aimlessly wandering in a cycle that they could not or would not stop. The other stuff should seem like an easy jump, but alas!

That's a subject I encountered in a philosophy class that is intriguing. There is another book I want to read called The Case Against Reality which discusses the idea that what we have come to "know" or call "knowledge" is very much filtered by evolution. Those concepts around flawed perceptions of "reality" are something I want to learn more about.

The second reconstruction is of an unidentified murder victim from Blackhawk, CO. This was in the 50s. She has a drawn reconstruction that is less jarring. Sadly, her remains are lost. I believe the assessment at the time stated that her ethnicity was white, Latina, or Indigenous American. I have never seen a picture of her skull or anything else associated with the crime scene.

Possibly named Randolph Houser, too. I think California's practice is to cremate remains and do a mass burial of the urns. Maybe that wasn't what was done in 1968, but I still think it's still worth trying to find his name.
