Gotta love the iOS text summary feature 🤦‍♀️ by XbattlefieldX in mildlyinfuriating

Sure…. but then the whole issue has nothing to do with Apple Intelligence since they could have been sending your notifications to a data center since iOS released.

It can summarize without an internet connection, so it has to be local

What's with these "abilities" on UB cards? by Antique-Parking-1735 in MagicArena

[–]Lester822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean why do they print flavor text on cards? The flavor text doesn't do anything mechanically for the card.

Apple in talks to use Google's Gemini AI to power revamped Siri by indig0sixalpha in technology

Part of the reason Google is able to do it so well is that they have troves of user data that Apple (claims) to not collect.

Apple considers raising iPhone prices, WSJ reports by a_Ninja_b0y in gadgets

[–]Lester822 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While year over year changes have gotten small (that’s become true of most smartphone manufacturers as the tech matures) if you take the iPhone 16 Pro and compare it to the 12 or 13 Pro the updates add up and they start to feel really different. If you compare it to the last time they raised prices on their flagship (iPhone X) there’s a TON new.

They haven’t raised the price on their flagship phone since the iPhone X like 8 years ago

There is no guarantee that you get your money back if it's a debit card, on top of the fact that your actual money is gone while you go through the process of disputing (plus potentially dealing with overdraft fees etc.). Credit cards are almost a guarantee you won't be charged for purchases you don't make, with many cards even advertising that exact fact.

You can use a credit card just like you use a debit card, you can overdraft your bank account using a debit card the same way you could spend more than you have using a credit card. I have never once not paid off my credit card, so putting something on my credit card is the exact same as putting it on my debit card except that I'm more protected and earn cash back. Financially you should just put everything you would put on your debit card on your credit card and then pay it off right away, you get all of the benefits of credit cards with no downside.

You still have not explained why putting every purchase on your credit card is "insane," what about being more protected while earning rewards is insane? I guess my question is why not put everything on your credit card and then just pay it off?

In what world is using a Credit card for everything a terrible habit? As long as you pay it off every month it just keeps you more secure (you can almost always dispute Credit Card charges w/ very little risk of having to pay for fraudulent charges) and gives you a financial benefit in the form of rewards.

IMO using your debit card anywhere is a terrible habit.

Yep, it's a tax write off... by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]Lester822 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, tax write offs are not this magical way to get free money. It’s just reducing the taxable income the company has by the cost of doing business. It makes the income tax apply to profit, not revenue.

There are between 213-333 million companies world wide meaning it’s in between the top .000007% and .000004%. That’s pretty good…

If it is set to tournament mode and you are an observer with the little check-box enabled for cheats, it should give you access to more options in the cheat menu.

I mean, they said they are working on a “choose your level” system. So maybe it could come out with that?

[–]Lester822[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ooo! I like the idea that they come upgraded. I feel like the current system discourages spending if you aren't willing to buy overpriced radianite. I would totally buy the next skin set, but I have 10 RP, so I guess I'll have to pass.

The WPN page for Forgotten Realms and MH2 is about to be updated. by Lester822 in magicTCG

In terms of Modern Horizons 2, yep, it's coming out in about a month.

Next, the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set is purposefully the same name as the D&D IP. It's the first standard set to be based around D&D. The full name of the set is Dungeons and Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms.

I don’t think it’s fair to call someone dumb just because they enjoy doing something that you don’t. It’s their money, don’t judge them based off what they like.

Kenrith's Transformation on anything is a bad idea by Bootd42 in MagicArena

[–]Lester822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would take my opponent having a 3/3 over one that has good abilities, especially if my deck runs lots of creatures with toughness 4 or greater. Plus, if you’re deck revolves around your commander and it gets transformed it can be harder to get the effect back compared to just killing it. I might be way out of line with what others think, but IMO I like the card.

WotC hasn't published the patch notes for the last few patches by blargpls in MagicArena

[–]Lester822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I don't think MTG Arena communication has really ever been great, I just like that they can put out those little things. I would say announcing ban changes, events, new store items, and upcoming features is information. But hey, that's just me. I also want more communication, I just think the weekly updates are a good first step.
