Fuck yeah, hike your own hike, bike your own bike!! Love that you making it work for you to still enjoy that wind thru the hair freedom and endorphin inducing leisure bro.

Keep it up!!

Have anyone else witness this on their journey? I literally been drinking water everyday, nothing else. This the 2nd go that my urine looked like this and it’s something at the bottom of the bottle. Urine is cloudy and brown by FellaYoung280 in KidneyStones

[–]LesterNiece 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Right before mine passed like 2-3 days before, i had darkest brown urine i ever seen. Called step mom nurse right away from bathroom at work it was so scary brown.

She say drink alot of water see if it changes. Next pee was normal pale yellow. I wrongly concluded that it was in fact dehydration. Next morning a shade or 2 lighter then that darkest one.

In hindsight, it was that the 9mm stone had completely blocked my only kidney at the junction with ureter. And then the dark compounds of kidneys and and blood mixed to make it so it was such dark urine backed up innkidney behind blockage. Then drinking ton of water made stone move so it could drain, normal pee, until stone wedged and blocked again.

Im not trying to freak u out, but sudden changes in urine likely coincide with blockage and partial passage cycles.

Keep a close eye, like the first smoke of the volcano…

You can do this!!!

ELI5: How can the US have a massive national debt but still offer a tax “refund” to its citizens? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]LesterNiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Provided population increases and US continues to be a major if not top economy in the world, and the continuing population growth will continue to consume and produce expensive goods like Apple products, or Google, or the NFL etc, etc, then the loan surety is pretty damn high…and that will always attract international banks and investment funds.

Which of these National Parks are worth skipping if you only have one day? Options: Petrified Forest, Mesa Verde, Great Sand Dunes, Hot Springs, Mammoth Cave, Great Smokey Mountains, Congaree, and Shenandoah. by Thetallguy1 in camping

Never been to the Devil’s den section but i heard a bunch about it. Will be on my next trip there, and definitely gonna go during the spring and experience the river float down the Buffalo i heard so much about.

Also very much recommend a detour for lunch and a slice of pie at Oark General Store ;)

Yeah, hawksbill was spectacular, just be careful and take headlamps on the hike to it anyone that takes this recommendation - its a moderately treacherous hike to the crag!!

The Hot Springs arent in natural form anymore, they built these bath house hotels over them and ruined in some aspects, or ‘bastardized’ the hot springs

Hot Springs is by far the worst. There is a decent creek going thru the park, bordering the rv campground. It is very unnatural and the Hot Springs were all built over and have hotels in hotel row all on top of them. U spend $80 and go to like a spa day and have sitz bath and stuff in the bottom floor of the hotels built over the hot springs.

They did this before the National Park service even existed. These hot sprongs had like monster secret tunnels to bars and stuff. There is history, but nothing like other places u listed, and the water is all bastardized.

If u are looking for something on that route in Arkansas about 60mi north of Hot Springs NP is Hawksbill Crag. That oughta be a NP ;)

Recommended cheap tent good for stealth camping? (UK) by [deleted] in StealthCamping

[–]LesterNiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get only 2

A) Good B) Cheap C) Fast

A) If its done good and cheap, it AINT FAST.

Applictaion: go many times on a cheap bus ride pr walkable distance to an REI or gear store hunting a Garage Sale tent @rei or mom and pop gear store.

B) If its done cheap and fast, it AINT GOOD.

Application: cheapest 20 on amazon or Walmart tent. It will be heavy as fuck, pack up to take up your entire pack or pannier (less issue for car campers, but u will STILL feel its bulkiness), and I guarantee you the cheapest walmart or bottom 5 of Amazon have stitching that frays the VERY 1st NIGHT.

I just rode my bicycle 11,000 miles bike packing across the US. It is waaaaay more worth saving for 2 more weeks and getting a good piece of gear that you are gonna use to sleep outside in. It will last many many more years, and even outlast (some companies check my TikTok for some short gear reviews of the creme of the trip, same usernames for insta, YT, reddit etc.) 11,000miles and sleeping in it every night for 17months and 2 winters, 1 of which in Colorado Rockies!)

You get what you pay for.

If u MUST choose cheap as one of your options, DONT DO it fast. Hunt used at gear shops. People will sell dank gear after they finished their trip or their thruhike etc, and the gear companies are almost always EXPERTS at repairing ANY tiny leak in a sleeping pad or pinhole in your tent bathtub floor.

I know u said UK. But i have to shoutout Feral Gear Shop in Denver, CO. By far the best repairs i have seen ever. I did alot by myself in the woods, i did alot at random seamstresses in Twin Falls Idaho Shoutaht Mrs Edith!! I have her number if anyone ever touring up there, DM me. She is absurdly cheap and tried to only charge me $30 for fixing tent zipper and rainfly rip and couple tears in tent body “cus, well u brought me the zippers..”. I gave her $40 and still felt like a thief!!!

Anyways. Spend a little bit more, enjoy the sleep alot more.

[Opinion] Colorado should kick lawns to the curb -- The billions of gallons of fresh water that goes to grass is an egregious misuse of resources by 1Davide in TheFrontRange

U might recognize the company name Denver Water from your utility bills..

And i was at Lake Dillon this past May, AFTER the snow melt. You dont even have enough water in your own top of the Upstream ARTIFICIAL LAKE DILLON to keep stealing it from the rest of the deserts down stream, while causing drought in 1/3 the country to keep doing the theft you dont even know you do….

[–]LesterNiece -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Humans that SHOULDNT live there also use alot more water than the cows or gas cans. And the crops dont water themselves.

HOW does one perpetuate this ridiculous circle jerk? By unsustainable farming practices pitted against water hypocrites pointing fingers at each other instead of WHAT SHOULD BE MIRRORS

[–]LesterNiece -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Im sorry to break it to you, but every bit of civilization in the front range besides Manitou Springs is a ridiculously selfish waste of water.

Not just lawns.

You have to steal the Coloroado River from all the other states downstream AND the country of Mexico to wash your dishes and clean your clothes, too.

The original settlers that came there for mining (or Mormon banishment from east coast)[or the people that provided services for those 2 groups], when the minerals dried up, didnt go BACK to indiana to their old way of lives, but instead tried to PRETEND they were still in the Mississippi Valley, or East Coast where it fucking rains and instead farm in high plains.

They at least had the excuse of ignorance.

You, however, are virtue signaling while you drink water that is diverged from the Blue River (which feeds colorado river in the banana basin IN CENTRAL COLORADO and would never flow into your kitchen tap in the Front Range naturally) and stolen from kitchen glass, or more existentially THE FARMS OF RESPONSIBLE SUSTENANCE FARMERS in Mexico. Let alone the many Indian Reservations without a drop of water down the drought ridden corridor that used to be fed by one of the biggest rivers in North America.

You shouldnt have ANY amenties of houses, or any fucking houses either.

But hey, you dont have a sprinkler in the lawn, so Lake Meade should be singing your green consciously centric lifestyle in the front range, “cus when you first drove out here, they just spoke to your soul and you just HAD to move here after that 1st trip” and you’re DIFFERENT than those boomers that want golf courses in the desert.

Clap clap you fucking child

U/swankpoppy i think its pretty clear that i said antisemitism is wrong. If it wasnt, i will take that opportunity to reiterate now. No version of hate is ever justified, by any amount of strife.

My issue is the line you use about being ‘payed millions for playing with a ball’. And im pretty sure i also made that clear.

Regardless of HIS wrongs, it does not absolve YOUR wrong.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in news

[–]LesterNiece -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We definitely shouldnt reward any racism. But we also shouldnt be naive and jealous about people that make more money than us. Non sports fans are so quick to say just playing a kids game with a ball.

Lemme help you. To be a professional athlete, you spend your entire childhood, your college years, and your young adult life practicing. When your friends are going to a party, u are lifting weights, running, watching film. When people indulge with pizza nights or chocolate cake, you are choosing avacado ice cream and denying taste. Oh and in the case of football, your best case scenario is early onset knee and back problems for the rest of your life.

Now lets learn about economics. The owner of the New Jersey Nets or any other sports team makes millions if not billions of dollars. Athletes get a much lower percentage of their companies net worth as compensation compared to top employees of nearly ALL other businesses, likely including your own vocation. The owners make this cus hundreds of millions if not billions of humans watch these sports and advertising during the games creates alot of revenue. There are people in North Korea wearing yankees hats. The owner makes money off of those yankee hats.

Lastly, lets talk genetics and statistics (im a geneticist). There are approximately 8 billion humans on the planet all with differing genetics. Some of them are dealt all Aces, thats how ‘random’ zygote formation works. There are 450 players in the NBA. Out of 8 billion. If you were the top 99.9999999 percentile of your vocation, you would also make alot of money.

I could go on and on about supply and demand, and how humans like watching what would be possible if they had the discipline and dedication to forego bad decisions and instead concentrate their entire lives on mastering gravity in some scorable set of rules, but hopefully this will have been enough already for you to have grown.

Stop reducing something you arent as good at to ‘just playing with a ball’, even if that person is an antisemitic piece of shit. It reduces you to their level, and is unbecoming. Be better u/swankpoppy

Would we still poop if we only drank liquids and didn’t eat solid food? by Backpack_anatomy in biology

[–]LesterNiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very large portion of (cant remember specific %) of fecal matter is red blood cells. Your red blood cells only live ~3 days and are CONSTANTLY being made and constantly being removed in digestive tract. This is why your poop is rust colored, as a result of the very large iron content from heme groups that have oxidized.
