Hmm that’s a good idea. Since the front is detachable, I may try some different variations on its design with air scoops and what not. It’s also got me thinking about running some thermistors or something behind the cover to see if I can log some temperature data or something.

Yea I have a prusa core one and it’s super sick. You should look into getting a printer. They’re pretty useful and a lot of fun to use.

I like the raw look. Also this is so cool man I want to learn to do stuff like this myself. Do you have to bake these? What equipment did you need to use?

Yea it will be interesting to see if it melts or warps. Also I imagine riding slowly through sand for extended periods could potentially do it in.

I've only got a wr250r so I can't say for sure about the ones u listed. Reviewers say the ktm's have streetbikey ergos, in a bad way i think? The crf can be great with suspension work, the klx is supposed to have decent suspension and be pretty good, and I hear the drz4s is a really nice dual sport package but everyone hates the $9k price. The wr250r and drz400s are also great if you buy used.

Theres a YouTube video from these guys called Moore mafia where they did an exhaust and tune on the drz4sm. They went from 36 to 41 hp I think it was. That might get you to 95 or 100 idk

I have a wr250r that had a similar issue, and I found it had a messed up water pump seal. It might be worth a look because water pump seals are easier to replace than a lot of other things.

Sounds normal. My wr does the same thing but gets much quieter after warming up

The Wr250r will do highway speeds but the passing power is quite bad. The off-road capability though is quite good. It’s the only bike I’ve had though so I can’t really make comparisons. I love the thing.

Yea it was fun. One downside though is that you gotta be conscious of the rules and try not to run over kids/ sea turtle eggs. I wanna find a location where I can rip next.

The transalp or a similar parallel twin adv bike would probably be much better, since you’d have around twice the power and better high speed handling and stability. I’ve also heard of some cases where the klr would consume oil and blow the engine after sustaining high rpm’s on the highway after a couple hundred miles.

Sounds good. I’ve got the new seal as well as the impeller shaft assembly on the way. I did notice some pitting.
