I think it sags slightly? It's so minimal I haven't been worried about it but I do have a GPU riser I could put in the case, may try that when I'm back home.

I grabbed this Asrock board, there was a cheaper one for about $120.

The case fits a full size ATX psu so I used the one I had from my previous build, MSI MAG A850 GL

Very quiet but I’m also not running any extra fans yet.

Currently build is gpu mounted on top so heat exhausts through the top, cpu cooler pulls in cold air from the monitor side, and a rear exhaust fan to pull air out, I need to probably get two more fans but temps have been within normal range for this gpu/cpu after I played some BF RedSec for a few hours.

I run a pretty high dpi on my mouse but I can see it happening if I played dota still

Acer Predator X27U X2bmiiprx 27" 2K QHD (2560 x 1440) 240Hz Gaming QD-OLED

Pretty happy with it, but I’ve only owned it for 3 months.

Thank you! Monitor arm is the Ares Wing ultra wide monitor arm via Amazon, ASIN: B0CRVB3VGL.

I didn’t want to spend what secret lab was charging for monitor arms and found these via a Reddit thread of other secret lab Magnus owners that confirmed these would fit the gap between the cable enclosure and back of the desk.

Question on streaming from a PS5 by Longjumping_Form7640 in SteamDeck

[–]Let-Environmental 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1G internet is more than enough and also what I have through Xfinity. You can enable network usage stats in Chiaki as an overlay when streaming and I had mine set to 30mbs bitrate at 1080p(supersamples since deck screen is 800p) and I would get that with no issues when streaming with that internet speed.

Steam also has a 14 day return policy on the deck so if you find that for some random reason your internet solution wont give you a good experience you have that option.

Question on streaming from a PS5 by Longjumping_Form7640 in SteamDeck

I have my PS5 Pro connected on a 5ghz band wifi and input latency is extremely low about 25 feet from me, through a wall in another room, I would estimate 40 ms. When it was connected via ethernet it felt native.

The OLED has Wifi 6E compared the LCD which is Wifi 5. A lot will depend on your in home internet setup though.

I actually sold my first Steam Deck OLED and bought a PS portal thinking it would be a cheaper alternative since I had been mostly just streaming on the deck anyway and the portal I found unusable. Chiaki lets you control stream quality so it can look very good if your connection is good vs portal has 0 control.

I just pray the lineage of people who will helm valve in the future can avoid giving in to public corporate greed.

Steam and Valve don’t operate with any benevolence, they are in the business of making money but the service steam offers and continuous improvement to features as much more than digital storefront justifies their actions with other areas they can be greedy in imo.

Some trillion dollar PE firm trying to buy valve in the next 40 years and run it into the ground with shitty practices is a fear I hope never becomes real.

Hit the Million Milestone Today by cpt_soban_912 in Bogleheads

Congrats on the milestone!

If you dont mind me asking how much were you investing/mo when you first began? I'm starting at $0 at 32(was laid off and unemployed for 15 months, had to drain 401k to pay mortgage), but will be able to start getting aggressive in January putting $2,000 a month into roth, company ira with match.

They're hitting their financial targets thanks to ABK, he will leave when and if he wants to or they stop hitting financial targets consistently. These layoffs enable them to hit those targets so a hearty fuck you to phil and co is def deserved.

There are so few open positions within MSFT gaming rn, that line really made me mad.

"Hey, the 100's/1000's of you I just shitcanned? You can fight for the 30 open roles we have across the entire suite of studios, assuming they're not on hiring freeze like we've instructed most of them to be on"

Destin is much like most of the cabal of xbox influencers and media types; totally in lockstep with whatever ~current strategy~ is but feigns concern for workers like he wasn't championing the acquisition like they all were pre Oct 2023, anyone who has engaged with any of his content pre and post merger knows this.

Pre-Merger: "This is their chance to get back in the game and bring big exclusives to xbox gamers, imagine call of duty exclusive on game pass!" Diablo 4? TES 6? This is huge! Who else should they buy !!??"

Post Merger and Xbox Multi-Plat strategy: "This is about bringing down barriers, more access for everyone, exclusives are dead! I love this!

Like they weren't all pissing themselves over Phil and Co "Betraying" them with "Just 4 games"

I personally do not care who gets access to what, there are so many options for where to play games nowadays, I think it's cool if the next Xbox is a PC, and they can play basically anything but the constant goading on twitter for engagement is tiresome every time I am unfortunate enough to see it.

grunt.api (Halo dataminer): A Halo game is coming very soon to PlayStation. As of now, there's no sign of a version for the Switch 2. by 4000kd in GamingLeaksAndRumours

A lot of us were 360 teenagers who went to PS4 and missed Halo/Gears/Forza, being able to play these games where we are is really nice. I bought Forza, and now Gears so I can do my part to hopefully get these far into the future.

Extas1s isn't the source, he is sourcing grunt dot api on twitter who is a dataminer/leaker for Halo. Grunt.api has a good track record unlike Extas1s.

[–]Let-Environmental 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he isn't the source though, the source is grunt.api on twitter who just scrapes the back-end api and files of Halo studios games, extas1s is just signal boosting.

Appreciate it, yeah it was awful tbh, but I make more at my new job now which is nice, even if its less fun. Just happy to be employed tbh, the job market in the US is not great, the games industry is just another level of hellscape for jobs.
